  1. I think it's safe to assume Almora will get promoted within the next few weeks to Daytona. Daytona will likely make the playoffs so I definitely expect Almora and Vogelbach to get promoted soon. Possibly Bryant too. You think it's possible Bryant gets to Daytona? Or just promoted, meaning KC?
  2. Do Segura and Marte qualify? Marte played in 47 games and had 182 PA's last year and Segura played in 45 games and had 166 PA's last year.

  4. Pujols out for the season http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/report-albert-pujols-mri-troublesome-left-foot-could-200311622.html
  5. I read it as $10 million total. Soriano has $5m total left this year when you pro-rate his total base salary from the beginning of the year to now and they are paying $5m next year. But the pro-rated remaining amount this year would be like $7.3M this year, wouldn't it? I guess I'm not really sure how they split out the pay checks and when they start paying them. You're right, if he paid evenly over 162 that's how much he's still owed yet this year. I still read it as the Yankees paying $10 million total 5 this year and next year. Whether or not the 5 this year is what is completely left or some pro-ration of the 7.3, IDK.

  7. I still think that is being overstated and was more just some stuff they said in the media as an excuse for waiting to get Rizzo's clock pushed back. It could be an exaggeration, but I do think you'll see most every prospect get a decent sampling of at bats at AAA. In almost any interpretation though(literal, exaggerated, ruse to avoid service time shenanigans) the result is that Alcantara won't be skipping iowa. Agreed, I could see Alcantara getting called up pretty soon to Iowa and getting a last monthish in and then starting there next year and if everything goes well with his development him coming up around the ASB next year. But that's probably best/fastest case scenario.
  8. I'm sure in no time Dale will have dumb [expletive] nicknames for both of them like Alby or Mory for Almora and like Misy, Mendy or Canty for Alcantara then it will all be cleared up.
  9. Adding Robinson Cano would fix some of those problems
  10. We have like two good posters. Maybe. Let me know when PSD gets a book written about them and then we can talk
  11. Dang, that ball Rizzo hit to CF is probably gone in all but a handful of parks in MLB
  12. That dude has been the ultimate good game/bad game kinda guy so far in Iowa. No kidding 2 wins in one game, ridiculous. I've literally never seen walks abbreviated as W in a line score, only BB.
  13. I'm gonna miss Soriano, he was mostly good for his time here and by all accounts had fantastic work ethic and was a great teammate. Definitely didn't deserve 99% of the [expletive] the meatballs talked about him.
  14. Law likes Olt? That surprises me. His first ratings on him were high, so therefore he can't back down and adjust from there
  15. It's not controversial, it's one [expletive] douche of an alderman being a whiny child
  16. Cool 30 for 30 "short" on TJS http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9499638/the-unlikely-legacy-dr-frank-jobe-pitcher-tommy-john-profiled-latest-30-30-documentary-series
  17. Yeah it's just Law being Law, he probably declared Lake a toolsy player years ago but with no chance of putting them together so he's sticking to it. He's incredibly stubborn on reversing his stances on prospects once he makes a declaration on them.
  18. Jed/Theo should hire/appoint a coach to just be in charge of when to take guys out/when and what relievers to bring in.
  19. I've never like him, I hope he isn't the starting 2B next year
  20. I agree, but if they were desperate do they have anyone that if they included him you'd have to seriously consider it?
  21. I don't really want to move him, but I wonder if the Braves will have interest in Jackson with Hudson going down. Maholm is hurt too I believe. What would they have that would make it worthwhile?
  22. It would have to take a overpay to trade him, imo. He still has a year of team control, iirc. We still need to field a team next year and it's not like the minor leaugers will be ready to break through to fill his spot.
  23. I don't have the actual right numbers in front of me but he seems to be walking a bit more in the last few weeks
