  1. Appears so. $13 million, is allowed to do whatever he's doing from LA, only needs to be in NY twice a month, and apparently gets final say on a lot of decisions (we will see with Dolan). Looks like Kerr will be get strong consideration to become the HC in the offseason too. I just don't see how it is going to work brining a guy in to change an organization from pretty much every aspect, on court, personnel decisions, acquisitions, philosophical changes, probably some internal re-structuring, etc. when he's 3,000 miles away and only in town twice a month. Especially with an owner like Dolan whose track record proves he doesn't give autonomy to anyone.
  2. I know it has been reported, but it's the first time I've seen in person and man Javy really doesn't cut down when he has two strikes.
  3. Might not get #1, but whoever they take (presumably they will and top 5) will probably end up being the best player from this draft. Just because that's how things work.
  4. The Graham being classified as a TE situation can't hurt
  5. Talib to Denver, $26 million guaranteed
  6. Johnathan Martin traded to the 49ers for an undisclosed pick
  7. Sucks, but I guess it needed to happen. I'm not an NFL contract or salary cap person, but curious as to how Miles Austin is still on the team. I think I saw somewhere that it works better or something to release Austin after the new league year starts, which is either June or July 1st. The reason, idk.
  8. Swap in Jeimer/Alcantara for Bryant and I'd probably do it.
  9. Hopefully it's like blisters or something minor
  10. http://giant.gfycat.com/AshamedWeeklyAmurminnow.gif
  11. I'm starting to think he may not last to #4
  12. Okay, Marlins.... http://deadspin.com/the-marlins-are-outraged-over-the-red-soxs-spring-tr-1538048384
  13. I would assume that's without Mirotic. I think it could be tough, or even impossible, to sign Melo to a max and still be able to bring Mirotic over. Hou (move Asik/Linn), Dal (have the expirings to offer a max), LAL (plenty of space), NY, CHI (with the Boozer/Dunleavy moves), and possibly MIA (depending on what LBJ does and/or Bosh/Wade) are all big market teams that could offer him the max with not all that hard of maneuvers.
  14. Thanks for that insight, Chris
  15. per bkref, the only Cs in the 3-pt era to average more assists: Sam Lacey (1979-80): 5.7 Vlade Divac (2003-04): 5.3 Sam Lacey (1980-81): 4.9 neither of them had 10 RPG; so Noah could become the only C with 10 RPG / 5 APG, but Larry Bird (5x) did this all the time, apparently, and so did KG (3x) Grant Hill, C-Webb, Admiral, Barkley all flirted with it several times That's an impressive feat. I could see Lebron reaching 10/5 as his career hits the decline and he may become more of a interior/back to the basket player and spend more time at PF than SF. He's gotten to 8/7, 7/8 once and 7/6 or 7/7 a few times already.
  16. I just don't think he's a guy that profiles to ever hit for any kind of power, regardless of what mechanical changes he would/could make.
  17. Wasn't there some injury concern with Harden that they didn't want him to go before game 3?
  18. Media/TV deals are the drivers. Forbes has the Bucks being valued at the lowest in the league and they are valued at $405 million. I think some of the value driver for lower level teams is the fact you have Seattle out there just waiting for one of the Milwaukee type teams to change ownership and move. If the Bucks were to move to Seattle you'd probably see them move from #30 most valuable franchise to somewhere in the teens. Increasing the ownership groups paper worth by a couple hundred million overnight with a move.
  19. Yeah I'm for contraction of 4-6 teams too. Not only would it help the age rule, if the league really thinks it's an issue. It would would also improve the product by condensing the talent. Though the players union would never go for it as they'd be losing 60+ jobs and even the shitty teams are valued at all time highs with no shortage of individuals/groups willing to buy a team if given the chance.
  20. Well, that's just [expletive] stupid
  21. A similar tracking system to the SportVu that the NBA has was released at the Sloan Conference for tracking fielders in MLB. http://regressing.deadspin.com/mlb-announces-revolutionary-new-fielding-tracking-syste-1534200504/@kylenw
  22. I think on a whole the quality of play would improve, yes there are always a handful of guys who can make the jump after a year but a large majority could use more than one year. Also maybe this is an attempt for the NBA to try a push the D-Leauge or a variation of it to HS kids to skip college all together. http://espn.go.com/dallas/nba/story/_/id/10538276/mark-cuban-says-nba-d-league-better-option-ncaa
  23. His stance kinda reminds me of Murton's
  24. Granger signs with the Clippers, Caron Butler signs with the Thunder. Those aren't bad pickups for either team. Both should at least help with spacing at the least as Butler/Granger are good-very good shooters.
