  1. For Iowa? Sure. I like him as a utility guy for Iowa. ooh, so edgy I still want Almora to figure it out so that Alcantara can just sub for someone everywhere everyday. That's my dream too
  2. I wonder how many people are watching the game today after hearing some buzz about the Cubs recently and think those 2 are big parts of the future
  3. I like Watkins as a super-sub type player
  4. I don't see much to get excited about. His rehab starts weren't very good and he looks pretty bleh today as well. i don't either, but i wasn't really expecting to. as i get to thinking with all crappy lefty starters, i wonder if he can be a decent loogy at least (have looked at no numbers) Lefties have a career .736 OPS against him. So probably not. Probably has a best chance of sticking on a roster as the swing/last guy in the bullpen that can spot start/come in and pitch multiple innings
  5. Probably depends if he can play multiple positions serviceably. If he's strictly a 2B, he probably will have a hard time sticking around. But if he can/Theo and co. feel he can play 2B/3B/OF I definitely can see a fit.
  6. Mostly agree, but I am interested in seeing Dubront pitch for at least a few innings.
  7. Baez/Almora/Vizcaino get us close? I would think so, add 1-2 more guys (Vogelbach and Pierce) and I think that's pretty reasonable.
  8. As long as he's healthy I'd expect him to play at least 150+/- games. ~10 games off, if done right, around scheduled off days should give him more than enough rest if they are worried about him wearing down or whatever.
  9. Is that the guy that made Rizzo expendable? Yonder Alonso
  10. Bryant Russell Schwarber McKinney Almora Tseng Edwards Gleyber Torres Eloy Jimenez Johnson next 10, some order of Rivero, Underwood, Vizcaino, Stinnett, Zagunis, Vogelbach, 3 of Clifton/Sands/Cease/Steele/Black/Z.
  11. I get what you said that we have the riches and they are gonna ask for them, but Theo/Jed are gonna come right back and tell them they aren't getting 2 of Russell/Baez because no other team can offer close to that. They can have 1+ Almora and another few guys in the late teens/20s of the org and no other team will still be able to match.
  12. Bryant 0-2 with a K but had 2 BB.
  13. "Team with the best prospects in MLB would be favorites to land a player if he was made available for prospects." Thanks for that eye opening info, Buster.
  14. Yeah, I'm totally fine not trading any assets for a bat, even Stanton. Just sign some pitchers with all the available money and start winning a [expletive] of games. The truth is, if it costs something like Russell, Almora, and Johnson, I'm neither for nor against getting Stanton. Same, and I'm super Pro-Stanton. This potential offense is just so [expletive] good that I really don't care if we do or don't get Stanton. Obviously I want him, but if they can't get him oh well boo hoo a million dongs with or without him. Agreed. I, unrealistically, wish we could do a quantity trade for him with Almora as the centerpiece so we could keep all the awesome guys. Something like Almora, McKinney, Pierce, Jimenez or Torres, and Vogelbach.
  15. What do we do with Russell then? Ohh right. http://38.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m40my5ktWv1qcmb4mo1_400.gif It may be the bourbon talking right now, but if you could have 5 guys (Stanton, Rizzo, Baez, Soler, and Bryant) who can hit 40 homers and another guy (Schwarber) hit 30 homers, it would be the most potent lineup... ever? Add in a 200 hit guy (Castro) and a potential 20 homer CF (Konami), and things just get silly. I said this a month ago but aside from having a Lofton type leadoff hitter, the Cubs have the potential to rival the mid 90's Indians offense. Schwarbers approach/BB% might make him the best candidate for the leadoff spot if we are talking about the all home grown lineup.
  16. And maybe 1/2-1/4 of a season from the Schwarbs
  17. Think he's done for the year with an injury. Guess they can still have him hang around Wrigley though. Make him bat boy/assistant hitting coach. I want him awaiting Javy, Soler and Rizzo at home plate after they hit their dongs to celebrate.
  18. I want Manny called up in September to be a part of this

  20. And Rizzo hasn't even been in a lineup with Soler yet
