  1. I'm gonna start to worry if we can't get 1 dong off of Kendrick in Coors
  2. Tiger-Sergio paired tomorrow
  3. Finally some ROI on that bunting contest
  4. It's only the 6th inning and Castillo is not someone who turns to dust against RHP He had a .631 OPS vs RHP last year and career .680 something. I'm not saying it was something that absolutely should happen, but when you carry 3 catchers and one hits RHP demonstrably better it seemed like an okay time to do it.
  5. Dekker is going to enter the draft, he should be tweeting it out soon, I'm good friends with him and his older brother. He told me a few days ago he was announcing this morning.
  6. Flower first AB tomorrow night
  7. I went Szczur and Jeimer
  8. Caratini and Szczur
  9. Verlander is starting the year on the DL
  10. The Braves just traded for Cahill from the D'Backs for a 24 year old OF who's never been above A ball. D'backs are paying about half his salary.
  11. I find it a little ironic that Olberman at times this year has ripped both Selig and BBWA (pretty sure Neyer has ripped them during HOF voting) for being archaic, living in the past and not adapting to modern times yet he criticizes an organization for renovating a a relic of a stadium to bring it up to pretty much just the basics of modern standards.
  12. The last 4 I can think of are Pujols, Fielder, Votto and Teixeria. So yeah, not a great proposition.
  13. On the other hand, I can't remember a comparable 24 or 25 year old hitter being traded at all. How old was Miguel Cabrera when he was traded to Detroit? A-Rod to Yankees?
  14. When was the last time someone traded away a young #1 starter? Truly asking. Trying to remember. Doesn't need to be "young" can be average age, Shields, Garza, Price, Samardzija, etc.
  15. Draft the best hitter possible, trade hitters down the road for established pitching when pitching is the last need/hurdle to make a run.
  16. AL East: Red Sox, Blue Jays, Orioles, Yankees, Rays AL Central: Indians, White Sox, Tigers, Royals, Twins AL West: Mariners, A's, Angels, Rangers, Astros WC: White Sox over Blue Jays DS: Red Sox over White Sox, Mariners over Indians CS: Red Sox over Mariners AL MVP: Trout CY Young: King Felix ROY: Rodon NL East: Nats, Marlins, Mets, Braves, Phillies NL Central: Cubs, Pirates, Cardinals, Reds, Brewers NL West: Dodgers, Padres, Giants, D'Backs, Rockies WC: Marlins over Padres DS: Marlins over Nats, Cubs over Dodgers CS: Cubs over Marlins WS: Cubs over Red Sox NL MVP: Harper CY Young: Strasburg ROY: Bryant
  17. Castro. Hits over .300 and 20HR
  18. Taking a guess at the OD lineup now that we know who's up and down, mostly. CF Fowler RF Soler 1B Rizzo SS Castro C Montero 3B Olt LF Coghlan P Lester 2B Lastella
  19. Looks like it's mostly on the warning track
  20. Ran this again with more wiggle room for performance: 20+ HR, >= 10% BB, <= 18% K Andrew McCutchen Jose Bautista Victor Martinez Matt Holliday Edwin Encarnacion David Ortiz LaHair and Hoffpaur were pretty good in the minors too
  21. I think this is a metaphor to where all of our thoughts on 2003 and the surrounding players went
  22. Someone had to be left out and I chose him :-( Castro is awesome and Baez is sorrow molded into human form; the choice wasn't even a choice. Darlin Starlin will be entering his sixth season this year. Not sure if he still qualifies as a young gun He's younger than Rizzo
  23. Going the baseball route would be something I'd really like to see, probably drop it to 2 years tho. It would definitely improve the NCAA product but also help the NBA product a bit as most of the 1 and done guys have flaws and aren't going to be overly impactful, on a whole, right away.
