yeah back to Hendricks i mean how to you rate being a brainiac in regards to tools? i think that factor and the control is what makes Hendricks a good pitcher. Gotta say, I'm a reasonably bright guy but it never really helped my pitching all that much. I think most of the credit goes to his command and the quality of his pitches. OPS against pitch 1-25: .790 pitch 26-50: 575 pitch 51-75: .492 i'm curious what you make of that, personally...maybe just SSS noise still? something different? I never believed it, but the old adage is that a sinkerballer is most vulnerable in the early innings. If I had to put a non-random story to it, I'd probably guess that his command gets a bit sharper as he gets deeper into the game. That's what I would guess as well if it's anything other than SSS. Kind of along this same thinking, since his stuff doesn't play way up (doesn't rely on high velo/a lot of break) his stuff is able to stay consistent (both velo/command/control) through an outing and doesn't have as much variance as pitch counts get higher compared to a guy like say Cole or Ventura who rely on more raw, high velo/breaking stuff?
