  1. I did that once in practice (was like a 4 inning game we played vs each other) to a guy in HS and coach kicked him out of practice for not hustling and benched him the next 2 games.
  2. It's a good thing the Mets have such a dog [expletive] offense or else we'd be down a lot more
  3. Nelson Cruz has 15 HR and is on pace for 75.9375
  4. Dong Monsters>Speedsters
  5. Strasburg in his first start tonight after coming back from shoulder discomfort: 3.1 IP 8 H 8R 7ER 2HR 1BB 3K
  6. espn.com has him at .276/.417/.460 Weird, that's not what fangraphs says I don't think Fangraphs updates as fast as ESPN Why would the one that updates faster be lower after he just hit a HR? Other way around, brain fart typing that

  8. it would improve our chances of playing meaningful Fall games pretty substantially the categorical 'f pitching' narrative is almost as bad, when we have 3rd-worst bullpen in the league to this point and 2 starters with whom the manager doesn't allow to see the 6th inning I'm not saying we don't need pitching but there's a lot better ways to go about it than trading Castro/Russell/etc.
  9. Just spend money on pitching in the offseason and keep the hitting prospects.
  10. This whole "OMG SS OVERLOAD MUST TRADE FOR PITCHING" is such a [expletive] stupid narrative.
  11. Take an offseason and just do a bunch of batting practice. Then pitchers will be able to hit and we won't have to worry about the DH. I'm aware that there are only a few guys this happens to and almost all pitchers can't hit but pitchers also only take 2-3 PAs per game whereas DeAndre Jordan took 34 free throws last game. It makes it unwatchable. Pitchers hitting is only slightly irritating. Anyone who says they won't watch an NL game because pitchers hit probably isn't much of a fan of baseball in the first place. It's a loophole that teams have exploited recently that is very easily fixable in a number of different ways. Just fix it and be done with it. It shouldn't be that hard for a NBA player to become a ~50% FT shooter if they put in the time/practice, it's far different and easier for a player to get better at than the pitcher hitting thing So DeAndre Jordan, Shaq, Dwight, etc. don't practice free throws at all? Do you think they're willingly just shooting 50% from the line and think that's good enough? In all honesty, yes. I don't think they put much time into it or seek out the proper shooting coaches, etc. to help. Maybe I'm wrong and they have, but I've never heard of DeAndre or Dwight hiring a shooting coach or changing their technique from the FT line. Also, I'm a little to young to remember all of Shaq's career. But didn't he kind of willingly embrace the whole bad FT shooter thing and it was just kinda his thing/a joke?
