  1. yessssssss legit excited about this. I wonder if they're considering trying to use him this year. I would think even if it's not plan A the move at least allows them to do it if they so please. I'll be surprised (and likely disappointed) if we don't at lest see either him or CJ this year.
  2. That's the reputation. But, he's got 13 errors in only 41 games this year. Not a lot of 3B's that make 50 errors over a big-league season. Villanueva has always been something of a high errors guy, I think. Obviously it's only 1/3/season sample size, and he'll not sustain that rate. But while defense is much about range, making errors still is a factor. Have all of those errors come at 3B? Why do I think they may have been experimenting with him at 2B or the OF?
  3. Cardinals shut out vs the brewers at home, so that's good
  4. Cashner with a weird line tonight. 4.2IP, 11H, 5ER, 0BB and 12K
  5. Good K/9 numbers, but still walking too many and getting BABIP luck (.212). But yeah it's good to see he's cut his BB/9 numbers nearly in half and upped his K/9. He's still 25 at A+....
  6. Would a good, relatively high ceiling, comp for McKinney be Markakis?
  7. I mean he's been pretty bad for 5 years (even though he's nevertheless gotten an inexplicable amount of playing time) and he's 41. Would you be surprised if he was? Of course it wouldn't surprise me. Just asking. I only know like two Marlins so I have no idea where he is in the pecking order. Yellich-Ozuna-Stanton is like the best OF in baseball Yellich is pretty terrible this year. He has been hurt, iirc.

They put up 14.2 fWAR between the 3 last year, Ozuna at 3.7 was the lowest. Factor in age, where they are at and where they can go I don't think it's unreasonable to call them the best OF.

  10. In my experience with them, yes. Only real difference between them and the authentic ones are you can tell the material is a lower quality and the numbers/letters/patches my not be quite centered.
  11. What's "soft contact rate?" I assume it's the percentage of balls hit "softly?" So being 13th lowest is good?
  12. I thought Turner was shut down for good this year, so this is good news to hear he might be able to be back in a month or so (even if it's just a bullpen role).
  13. This would be my ideal course of action
  14. Isn't (or wasn't) his velocity way up?
  15. It would be a real shame if Ventura got hit by a pitch...
  16. That he'll replace Jackson or be up hopefully soon?
  17. Talk about a career going off the tracks, he was so good for a few years before the injuries set in. He put up between 26-29 WAR between 05-09' depending on if you prefer bWAR or fWAR.
  18. I assume he will stay in the bullpen there? Either way, good to hear, hopefully he will be up within a month or 2
  19. This bat flip is incredible... http://streamable.com/5us5
  20. Catchers get days off. oh they stopped playing him on LF on off days this season? hadn't noticed. Even if he's splitting time between the two with the wear and tear catching puts on the body he's gonna need a day off here and there
  21. Law has us taking Happ in his latest mock. On a different note has there been any reports on Aiken?
  22. Please beat the piss out of the Cavs, Golden State
  23. It's only dirty if every slide into second base to break up the throw is dirty. Plus, I'm not sure how much it really affected it....that was a really bad looking throw before Bourjos touched him. Huh? Him sliding into his leg clearly affected the throw. I agree it's a grey area play, kinda dirty but not overly dirty.
  24. That was a way to win I'ver certainly never seen before by the Cardinals
  25. Castro's really the only one that matters at all that anyone should be worried about in terms of lasting impact/problems. Soler kinda sorta too
