  1. Edwards is stretched out enough to go multiple innings if needed, right?
  2. Hendricks doesn't look too bad, got a little unlucky on ball/strike calls in the first ab and then got a weak grounder in the 2nd ab. Hopefully things get settled down
  3. Neither were a strike by k-zone but strike 2 and ball 4 were the same pitch/spot.
  4. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/kris-bryant-has-a-new-swing/
  5. Heyward is close to OPS'ing 1.000+ for a month +
  6. Maybe they're in on it too to horsefeathers around with Rondon
  7. I hope the Cubs offense is putting 5% of their income this year into an account assigned to Rondon after the year for what they are going to cost him in arbitration
  8. Also names Teheran, Archer, Moore, and Odorizzi So basically every SP who's been in a rumor since winter who hasn't gotten hurt? Got it
  9. I hope Lester is purposely pitching to contact here due to the conditions or else he is not looking good
  10. That's good to see Heyward going the other way/up the middle and not rolling over that pitch
  11. Dusty probably uses them as visual aids for a fishing analogy that makes no sense
  12. .251 is really low and likely not sustainable, going back to 2010 (as far back as I cared to look on Fangraphs) only 1 team has finished below .270 and that was the 2011 Rays at .265 but it looks like about 3 teams a year on average in the time period finished in the .270s. So there's about a .020-.030 correction we should be expecting if we are a merely very good but not great team. If we are a historically great team maybe that only corrects by .010-.015.
  13. They showed him picking at his fingers in the dugout after the Nats start. We know he had a blister earlier in the season. I wonder if he's still having some kind of issue with a finger, where he's not getting the grip he wants. I'm guessing there's nothing overly wrong, but even if he has some lingering blister problem or something similar they should just skip a start for him with the start we've gotten out to and just let Cahill/Richard/Wood do a piggy back start.
  14. Apparently it's similar to the Scherzer contract, $15 million a year for the 7 years of the actual contract then 7 years of deferral payments of $10 million a year. So the actual value of the contract comes in around the high 150s-low 160s I believe.
  15. My question is basically: when you're an actual statistical outlier like the Cubs seem to be, how much does that play into the equation? About as close to absolute zero as possible
  16. A 90s Yankees run is too much to expect I think but a 2000s Cardinal/Red Sox run is a reasonable target to set.
  17. Buy Murphy's for 10 cents on the dollar, tear it down and erect a shrine for the trophy and banner on the site
  18. Have they laid out any sort of plan/milestones for him? Like when he could/should start running or riding a bike, hitting balls of a tee, etc? Obviously it's major surgery so I'm guessing that's months away yet. Also would it be out of the question for him to play winter ball this year, if health permits?
