  1. Matt Harvey, still broken
  2. He dealt with that hamstring/leg injury last year and I think he never completely recovered from it in season and he self admitted in the offseason he needed to get in better shape as he has worn down the previous 2 years and worked on strengthening his legs/lower body.
  3. interesting that Raffy Devers jumped to the top 5 with a 60 wRC+ start to the season also that Joey Gallo corrected his discipline/K problems in a major way and essentially dropped from preseason ranks Is Gallo completely off the list and, if so, is it because of his promotion? That's a glaring omission. He's #10
  4. I mean for as good as we are I don't think we should expect "several" 7+ game win streaks. That's still really hard. What will likely happen are stretches of 6 o f 8, 10 of 13, 15-16 of 20 type stretches. Which is fine.
  5. Wacha is a reverse splits guy, wouldn't be surprised if we see the same lineup as game 1 and maybe even Ross start over Montero.
  6. Kershaw only had a 7:1 strikeout to walk ratio tonight in his CG shutout.
  7. Anyone have a scouting report on Pena? What kind of pitches/velo does he have?
  8. Hard to say, I like to think of Schwarbs as the dong hitting machine he was most of last year but he had a 6 week stretch where he was pretty mediocre too. Team is very streaky. Not sure if it's by chance or something the Cubs are doing that creates very streak hitters. I think that's just baseball and mostly every team has that. I doubt the Cubs carry any more streakiness/variance than every other team does.
  9. The only thing that frustrates me about this stretch is not having Schwarber, you have to think with his bat/approach in the lineup we win at least 1 of the games we lost. Especially considering how many were close games, a dong could've turned the tide and also that his abs are largely going to Baez, Soler, Federowicz, etc. who have been doing next to nothing.
  10. I hope he has multiple magicians, clowns and midgets riding unicycles in the clubhouse tomorrow pre-game
  11. Holiday looks like he's about to fall over on his face every time he comes running in on a ball
  12. Short bench since Szczur already came in for Soler, Heyward may or may not be available and Wood probably wasn't available to pitch tonight as he's pitched a lot the past few days.
  13. I think all the fat, old umps are just jealous of his ridiculously handsome good looks and it's their only way to get back at him
  14. I would've left Lackey's wife too and I've never even met the lady
  15. I noticed it too, half his forearm is covered in whatever. I just noticed a large patch of paleness near his wrist. Either it's from the sunscreen or he has vitiligo He was pounding that area of his arm pretty hard with the rosin bag in the first inning when they showed him so I'm guessing it's some sort of substance (sunscreen, bullfrog, vaseline, etc.) and rosin mixed.
  16. Lackey is cruising, that being said 3rd time through the order I hope the pen is getting loose as soon as a baserunner gets on
  17. Now would be the time to break out of that funk, Anthony
