  1. I'll say Ventura because their FO is more incompetent (not that he's a good manager just that they seem to make moves for the sake of making moves more) and their unsustainable start gave them some sort of irrational hope of competing and being actually good when they really are a pretty shitty team.
  2. The Ringer has started a baseball podcast, their third one is Cubs centered with Rany Jazayerli. In the first one it's just Simmons and one of his idiot buddies but he made it sounds like they are going to be making at least one hiring of a baseball writer (sounded like more than 1) soon and he/she would be running this podcast with a different guest(s) every time. https://theringer.com/ringer-mlb-show-podcast-baseball-b581848ebe6d#.5qr1ip1yf
  3. there's no way that's true. holy [expletive] They had a stretch where they gave up at least 1 run in every game to start the year for like the first 20 some odd games. I think their doom spiral started in that early season series with us.
  4. Why did they bring Robertson in to pitch in that game? Just saw a highlight of him giving up a HR to Werth
  5. I know he went 4-4 but I feel like all of Javy's abs were terrible today. Good job putting the ball in play tho.
  6. With Almora's offensive profile that being his first hit is pretty fitting. He's totally gonna be our Jeter
  7. I wonder if MLB forced them to move some of the AA guys up since they were grinding pitchers arms into dust with the ridiculous BB% of so many of the guys there.
  8. Well he was running on the pitch so there was at least some small chance plus the hit had a lot of hang time yup force the throw and hope it goes errant or the catcher mishandles it or something. better than counting on those guys to drive him in with 2 outs. We also have to factor in Gary Jones made the decision to hold him, so sending him almost certainly was the right choice.
  9. Did LaStella get hurt on that last play that Wood pinch ran for him? Or why else would Joe make that move? Wood, would have had to play LF in the 9th if we tied or took the lead.
  10. I mean lineup construction doesn't matter all that much so idk how moving Heyward around is really going to affect anything, unless it's a mental/comfort thing they think he has being moved down. He's gonna come up in the 5/6/7/8 spot or wherever some of you guys want him plenty with runners on and hit those grounders.
  11. I wonder if this will be Hendrick's last inning with him leading off next inning and the bullpen mostly having off yesterday.
  12. Seal boy really threw his flipper at that one
  13. Outside of that Russell play, some really shitty defense tonight.
  14. He should've had a 1, 2, 3 like 11 pitch first inning there if not for Bryant's screw up
