  1. Cole is having an MRI today
  2. This is about the time of the year last year God Mode Jake kicked in. May god have mercy on the Braves souls
  3. Yeah but does Torres have "double plus hands?"
  4. That can't be right. Most places the Cubs are between -230 and -250 Yeah I was on Oddsharks and just looked at all the lines from the books they show, everyone else was in the -170 to -250 range but Bovada was huge for some reason
  5. The Cubs are -600 on Bovada tonight, you have to be an insane person to bet 6/1 on an individual MLB game.
  6. Also Joe Maddon is singlehandedly responsible for making Zobrist the player he is, so we kinda developed him in a round about way. Or at least I'd make that argument to that idiot just to grind his gears.
  7. They're too dumb to realize they should be rebuilding and also probably wouldn't deal with us for stupid reasons.
  8. I think that's unquestionably the top 3 right now. I guess you could maybe argue Cease over Jimenez but F pitchers. On another note... Which, if any, of the SS prospects ranked above him has Torres passed? Those SS include JP Crawford, Orlando Arcia, Brendan Rodgers, and Dansby Swanson. Going off of Law's midseason update.
  9. Sonny Gray is off the DL and starting tonight. FWIW
  10. the only sub-par ballparks left in the majors Do the Braves really expect more attendance in the suburbs? No they simply were able to steal the most taxpayer money moving there
  11. I work from home and have a printer/scanner/fax machine combo deal. Can't say I've every used the fax portion of it or even set it up or ran a phone line to it.
  12. Welcome back Coghlan and your awful, terrible, no good song! Please stop being as bad a baseball player as your song is.
  13. same...it's hard to say with any certainty but i guess it's just a confidence thing after the way those guys got worked in the big leagues. just couldn't find it again? or worked on adjustments to improve their chances at success in the bigs and the adjustments don't take/make them worse, i guess. Yeah, I'm guessing it's more the latter than the former. But both play roles, I'm sure when they fail they are told what they have to fix/work on and they just aren't capable of making those fixes. Just flawed players doing what flawed players do, end up failing.
  14. Which is really dumb because you shouldn't be playing Super 2 games with pitchers. If they're ready start the clock because that clock is more than likely to run out before you expect it to.
  15. Soooo with being around half way to our pick, who is slipping who we should be cheering to fall to us tomorrow?
  16. White Sox have had the best draft so far. IMO
  17. Taillon started for the Pirates yesterday. Not sure who he replaced in the rotation though. I think it was a scheduling thing with a DH vs the Mets Tuesday and a make up game in Colorado today. But yeah he should stay up and take Locke's spot
  18. He must've heard we signed Joel Peralta and simply given up hope
  19. They've turned into the 2005-2006 era Cubs "Juan Pierre, now that's a name. Trade whatever you can to bring him here!" "Glendon had a good season or two even though he was horrible last year. I think we can rehabilitate him" "Burnitz is a great replacement for Sosa, they both hit home runs" "Phil Nevin? He's still playing? Seriously? .......[expletive] it just get him" was burnitz the one we signed because of something like his average vs rhp with RISP? or was it jacque maybe? I think both were signed for similarly dumb ideas like that
  20. I wonder if the guy sitting at our table there tonight is anyone of importance or just the Costanza of the organization
  21. He has been truly awful this year but I don't mind the move I guess if they think coming back to a place he was comfortable will get him going. They have been playing him at 2B and 3B some this year I know.
  22. Don't support any rooftops that aren't owned by the Cubs
  23. Tweet was deleted, what did it say? [tweet] [/tweet]Thanks Astros
  24. I'm on board with if he wants to stick around make him a coach of some sort, possibly bench coach as I think it's quite likely Martinez gets a HC job next year.
