  1. If we were to play around .500 baseball the rest of the way they'd have to play like .650 baseball just to catch us I think.
  2. The amount of different types of DPs Heyward hits into is actually impressive
  3. I agree, I think Federowicz and Szczur get replaced by Soler and LaStella when those 2 are ready to come off the DL.
  4. Good, F him. Hopefully he never plays in the league again. Though I would imagine the White Sox will be signing him in the next few days since their unsustainable hot start tricked them into thinking they are actually good.
  5. I don't think that's, that big of a concern I'm less worried since he has a pro team rehab staff working to get him back, but he wasn't the most mobile before, and it typically takes 2 years to get the "trust" back in your body (from all reports). I don't necessarily think that's true for a sport like baseball unless you're a catcher, pitcher or a guy who really relies on his legs for speed/defense. Sure it might take more time after he comes back to get all the strength back, but this isn't football or basketball where that's more true since you are constantly running, jumping, cutting, starting/stopping, getting hit, etc.
  6. Assuming Schwarber recovers to the point he can play in the OF again. I don't think that's, that big of a concern. Sure it's a possible outcome but it's not likely and if his recovery goes so wrong he can't even play the OF it probably affects him as a hitter as well so then he shouldn't even be in the plans moving forward.
  7. Big test for Almora today, interested to see how he looks at the plate and in CF. I like piggybacking a day off for a regular like Fowler with a scheduled off day the day after.
  8. What's the eta on Crow and Nathan to start making appearances in AAA (or wherever they may be sent)?
  9. Probably not. It's a good draft for depth/role players (I don't think there's a huge gap between say spot 7 and the late teens/early 20s). After Simmons/Ingram it seems like there's either project/stash guys like Bender, Brown and Chriss who have all-star potential as their ceilings but aren't going to do much immediately or guys like Hield, Murray and Dunn who are probably good pieces and do 1-2 things really well but have flaws. That being said I wonder how many future 1s or swap rights they could get out of Minnesota. #5, Lavine and Dieng or Pekovic and some future 1s or swaps rights for Butler could be an okay haul.
  10. That looked bad, right off his knee it looked like. Assuming he goes to the DL, I don't know if I've ever seen a more impressive starting rotation on the DL for one team..... Maeda/Ryu/McCarthy/Anderson/Wood
  11. Javy keep playing defense like that and I can live with you being a blind person in 95% of your PAs
  12. Would've liked to see Rondon try and come inside one time there vs Rendon either with a back door breaking pitch or something hard on the hands. Also, Javy horsefeathering sucks offensively
  13. That looks like the same play as the Heyward play they called him out on
  14. Loaded the bases letting two of the worst position players in MLB and a pitcher reach base....
