  1. Chapman really shouldn't pitch until the Dodgers series next weekend in an ideal world
  2. I hope the velo drop on Chapman the last 2 outings is by design.
  3. The first 3 guys due up this inning have a cumulative WAR less than Seal Boy, finish them Aroldis
  4. Parra has a 1.4% BB rate this year so a walk off walk makes total sense
  5. To be fair, I'm pretty sure the bullpen management would be very different tonight if this game mattered beyond whether we clinch on September 8th or 9th I was under the impression that Zastryzny would be starting, but I guess Lackey to the DL killed the 6 man rotation for a while? If we can avoid using Cahill tomorrow, maybe he gets Lackey's spot on Tuesday?
  6. Results notwithstanding, Z's stuff and even his windup seem pretty similar to Wood
  7. With Blackmon, then top of the order this would be a nice spot to get Chapman out there if he was warming up anyways
  8. Him and Heyward are the only guys left on the bench, right?
  9. How do we make sure he doesn't get a meaningful inning in the playoffs because we all know if left to his own devices Joe Maddon will use him I mean ideally Strop and Rondon get completely healthy and back to form, Grimm and Montgomery continue to be effective/show improvement, Edwards keeps doing well and Joe loosens up using Chapman so Wood never has to see a meaningful inning.
  10. You can't be mad at a guy who just isn't clutch, he can't help it
  11. I just looked up Pena's numbers at Iowa and saw he was K'ing 11 per 9 innings and thought, hey maybe this guy can be something, then I saw Patton was K'ing just under 15 per 9 down there this year. So yeah hopefully he can be an average middle reliever.
  12. I obviously want to win, but a long extra inning game isn't what the bullpen/pitching staff needs tonight
  13. I kinda was hoping they'd bring heyward in late for defense and put Soler in left (granted in reality it would've been Soler coming out, not scissors, but Jorge would've had him) Yeah, I think any of the possible LF (Jorge, Bryant, Willson) have him easily at the plate there. That was a pretty weak throw by Scissors
  14. I don't know if I've ever seen a pitcher switch which side of the rubber he throws from mid at-bat like this guy for the Rockies is right now
  15. That fan saved a run there, thanks buddy
  16. Len said something earlier in the game that they really would like to not use him tonight
  17. The bullpen options are quite limited tonight and with the division lead/likely needing multiple pitchers tomorrow I get trying to squeeze another inning out of him.
  18. Myth Well yeah, I meant it more as a facetious way of saying Georgie had a bad game than blaming the weather/using it as an explanation for it.
  19. No evidence to back it up but it seems Rizzo isn't that great at picking balls or at least keeping them knocked down around him. I know that was a really tough short hop, but I can recall quite a few balls like that this year he's whiffed on
  20. The difference between Wood's ERA and FIP/xFIP has to be one of the biggest margins in the league of anyone who's pitched a decent amount of innings
  21. It would be nice if this is the one random outing that Wood has every few weeks where he goes multiple innings of shutout baseball.
  22. The run differential ruiner is warming up, score more runs
