  1. Zobrist striking out against Jackson seems not probable
  2. That wasn't a bad pitch to swing at, captain hindsight Don't really care where the pitch was. With Bryant/Rizzo up next he should be taking.
  3. Don't like Dexter swinging 3-0 there
  4. Nice, quick, inning from Lester. Would be nice to get 7 at least out of him tonight.
  5. Addison is already good, but he's gonna be so damn good
  6. For the few times they happen every year I enjoy West Coast weeknight games, something different being able to watch the Cubs in bed.
  7. Matz is going to the DL
  8. That seems reasonable and logical on both accounts, but I don't think Joe would let Arrieta, Lester, etc. throw 70 pitches in 1.2 innings. Letting Strasburg do it with his history and money he's owed seems incredibly reckless. Agreed, especially considering the score of that game. Yeah that's the other thing, the game situation completely called for taking him out after 1 if not still in the first. They were down 7-0 after 1 I believe. Throw in all the factors Duke mentioned above and good god, Dusty is a moron.
  9. Are we still paying for him? Yea, this is his last year on the contract we signed him to. I don't know how much though.
  10. I always worry about that when a pitcher gets to 36+ pitches in an inning. I worry about Hammel after his disaster inning yesterday. Wish we had a team policy that youre done after 35 in one inning. Who was it that we made throw 40 in one inning the other day? Itll be interesting to see if he starts to have arm problems. The Cubs have a 30 pitch/inning cap on their minor leaguers but it's just not as practical to enforce that in the big leagues. 11. Strasburg to DL with "elbow soreness." I wonder if throwing 70+ pitches in 1+ innings his last outing had anything to do with it?
  12. Jackson has inexplicably put together some good starts on the Padres, including taking no-hitters twice deepish into games. However he's walking 4+ per 9 and only k'ing 5 and giving up nearly a HR per 9.
  13. Good job, good effort. On to San Diego
  14. This would be an okay time to get Wood into the game, Joe
  15. Seriously just pull them off the field and forfeit and head to San Diego, not worth burning up the bullpen

  17. There's no logical explanation other than they wanted to keep it "Pat and Ron" after Santo died, because reasons that's funny but they already had moreland in between lol Those were dark days that I didn't listen to the radio much because I had no reason to follow games live as box scores would suffice and following the minors was more important. I forgot they had him Moreland for a while
