  1. That Zobrist Ab just looked like he was so unsure of what to do
  2. If there's such a thing as momentum we have it
  3. There better be a balk called on Urias tonight if his pick off move is anything close to the highlights they just showed
  4. Hopefully the criminal investigation finds enough to take him to court. Even if he is innocent, who poses for pictures like that after a case like this? He's just so [expletive] stupid
  5. horsefeathers Cleveland and horsefeathers Lebron James
  6. The score just said Kershaw is throwing a full bullpen session currently which pretty much eliminates any chance he throws tonight or tomorrow/backing up Roberts. Fwiw
  7. omg if we win tonight, we would go from funeral to pure jubilation and back to thinking that we are going home up 3-2. Got em' right where we want em', I love when a plan comes together
  8. This feels like during the season when we would look for little things to say Heyward is fixed. "yeah but yesterday remember he didnt groundout that one time. So what if it was a popup to the catcher, he's finally hitting the ball in the air, time to crush the National League" Yeah but Russell showed an ability to actually be good this year for extended periods and come out of slumps
  9. Russell hit a ball pretty hard to RF in his last AB last night. Anecdotally it seemed when he was starting to come out of slumps and when he was hot this year he was going to RF hard often. #PositiveVibes
  10. I like it, would've been fine with Soler in RF but get putting Heyward out there. Biggest game of the year, you dance with the girl you brought to the prom or however it goes. Also Lackey will probably allow a lot of balls in play with all the lefties so go with defense.
  11. I'd like to see a breakdown if this is really true.. Sure they are/have struggled against truly elite curveballs (Kershaw/Hill/Bumgarner) but almost everyone does, do they suck against all curveballs as a blanket statement or if you remove the truly elite ones are they still performing well?
  12. I'm still going to be surprised if Russell isn't playing tonight, I think Joe taking him out last night was more of a quick breather to take a step back for a few innings. I think we see the same lineup (maybe different orders slightly) as last night except Ross or Contreras is going to be catching and maybe Contreras plays over Soler but I thought Soler had some quality abs last night, he worked the counts well getting 1 BB and almost had 2nd.
  13. Alright Lackey, I don't like you and you don't like me but let's just do this so I can go back to having my super team back.
  14. Is this 1999? Because leinies has been a fixture on the east coast for well over a decade, all year long. Aren't they owned by miller now? When I was at UW-Madison they were still an independent brewery but I thought I read they got sold/bought up (while still keeping their plant in Chippewa Falls, WI.) I don't know if they were outright bought by Miller or if they had some kind of merger/partnership with them, but they at least did something where they are able to use Miller's supply chain/distribution/manufacturing network now.
  15. Vodka What was the hideous concoction, OMC I think, was ripping shots of/mixing earlier this year? I want to say it was like sierra mist and gin, either way we all should do a shot/drink of that for solidarity.
  16. horsefeathers goats and curses. You're a mental midget if you believe in such nonesense
  17. I'm halfway through anger-eating a bag of M&Ms and hating myself for letting a game impact me this much, and I still can't even fathom the things people do to try and find their way to pessimism. Julio Urias isn't similar to Rich Hill. Hill throws 2 pitches, Urias fairly evenly mixes in 4. Hill had a 2.12 ERA, Urias's is higher than John Lackey's. Urias has already had an outing where the Cubs bombed him into oblivion. He hasn't thrown more than 3.2 innings in 46 days. The Dodgers preferred to send both Kershaw and Hill on 3 days rest than let him start in the NLDS. He is undeniably talented and has had a strong outing against the Cubs, but spare me the 'likely loss' stuff. He'll be mixing in his filthy slider and curve ball. He has the blueprint on how to shut down the Cubs bats. I'm not directly comparing statistics, but they're both lefties and they both have a nasty curve ball. That's all that needs to be said against this Cubs lineup. That's all true that he hasn't thrown many innings, but I don't think it'll matter too much if the bats help him out by striking out like they have been all series long. The guy the Cubs bombed was pitching one of his first few starts. That's no longer the case anymore. NLDS is different from the NLCS because the Nats aren't nearly as flawed and didn't have a blueprint. It was also a winner take all game 5 on the road so you can understand why they'd want Kershaw or Hill over him. It is likely a loss barring them hitting some pitches that they haven't hit well all season long. Sorry that that disappoints you, but that's just the truth. If you haven't already prepared yourself for the cubs season coming to a close, you should do so. It'll take a miracle to save this season given the circumstances the Cubs face in the next two games. Sure that's the blueprint that seems to be working lately but that blueprint has been executed by absolutely elite pitchers and pitches, Urias may be that one day and maybe he even has it in him tomorrow, but it's not just a blanket statement of throwing those pitches against us leads to automatic success success. They still need to be executed at an elite level like other elite pitchers have done against us. We've bombed Urias already once this year with his version of those "filthy" pitches on top of him not pitching a ton lately and not having great success.
