  1. And Jeimer scored on it who got on base by walking, there's probably an argument to be made we still have the best collection of hitters in the minors of any team in the majors. LOL
  2. As long as he's the top prospect remaining on the board with no major injury red flags, I have no problem with drafting pitchers once you're this low in the draft. While the risk in pitchers is still there, the hitters are no longer anywhere close to the sure things they were higher in the draft. I was being a little hyperbolic and yeah agree generally. But hope we can find at least one bat with our 2 first picks and if there's a clear pitcher available who's the best pick available do it. But if it's close between a hitter and pitcher I hope they still lean hitter.
  3. Sean Miller just called a timeout against UCLA up ~10 with the ball with .9 seconds left on a possession that started with about ~20 sec left and didn't make any subs. Okay then.
  4. They have to pay an entry fee though that goes to the winner, NSBB members are grandfathered in from payments
  5. What is considered average, good, or bad for this?
  6. Definitely Game 5 of the World Series this year for me. Other games that stand out are I remember going to a game in 98' in the bleachers when I was 12ish and Sammy hit a meaningful HR during the game that went right over my head (I want to say it was his 60th or multi HR game or maybe the single season Cub record or something), also I was at the day game that was the 4th game of the series against the Brewers in 2008 when we kicked the horsefeathers out of them for 4 straight days and effectively crushed their souls, that was fun. EDIT: Looking at David's initial post it was that September game he's talking about with Sammy's 61st and 62nd.
  7. They pretty easily could have had 2-4 more losses this year, they won a lot of 50-50 games (some even crazier ones like the WVU game). I think they are quite vulnerable. They haven't covered spreads for horsefeathers either.

  9. She has to be trolling for twitter/social media followers/page views
  10. As not a fan of any NFL team I don't mind the Glennon move for the Bears, especially if it's just $19 million guaranteed. There seems to be a decent amount of people in the league who think he could be a good and those comps from a few pages back of something between being better than Orton and a little bit lesser version of Matt Ryan could be a pretty good QB for not a ton of money. Also it allows them to get a player at 3 (or trade down for more picks) who is likelier to be a good, productive NFL player than any of the QBs at 3 who I think all are nothing special (I think Trubisky and Kizer are garbage and I think Watson could be good but has his warts) and certainly not worth taking at 3. Finally I know it's not a good way to run a team but there are/should be much better QBs in next years draft if Glennon flames out. Just my thoughts looking at this from the outside in, which isn't worth much. I think it's incredibly dumb to let Alshon go and they just should've franchised him if there was no way to work out a long-term deal for whatever reasons.
  11. The thing I hate the most about this whole deal is how much MLB seems to be marketing/promoting it over, you know, their amazing group of young talent currently in the game.
  12. Good, horsefeathers pitchers. Especially when it comes to drafting them in early rounds.
  13. It's a stupid sentiment for numerous reasons, but is there a pitcher who doesn't feel this way? It seems like comments like that are all you see on the subject.
  14. Pretty much, and at the same time if it bugs you or rubs you the wrong way I don't think it's all that hard to ignore whatever David Ross is doing in off the field stuff. Not when every thing he (or anyone else does) off the field is retweeted and/or commented on by every single baseball writer/blogger/teammate. And, again, I'm OK with him getting as much money as he possibly can get, particularly because he's nowhere near as rich as most of his teammates were or will be shortly, but "Dancing with the Stars" and playing with the Harlem Globetrotters? Who really gives a horsefeathers? So just scroll/swipe right by any articles/tweets that mention David Ross in your timeline, even on a "busy" David Ross news day there's what maybe 10 tweets about him? It takes less than a second to scroll right by a tweet.
  15. Too each their own I suppose. But I see no similarity to the 85 Bears. The Cubs won the WS 4 months ago. And Ross is a super nice and funny guy, reaping the rewards and momentary fame that comes with success. All the power in the world to him. It will be gone soon enough. Pretty much, and at the same time if it bugs you or rubs you the wrong way I don't think it's all that hard to ignore whatever David Ross is doing in off the field stuff.
  16. Double with bases loaded like a legit well hit one or a grounder that bounced over a corner IF and made it down the line Legit we'll hit line drive to LF, against a LHP too
  17. Almora seems to be one of those guys who always has some sort of injury
  18. I know it's likely Jeimer's value to us is going to come in a trade, but if he's going to stick around in the system this year I hope they have him play some OF in AAA in the event of an injury(s) or poor performances by some guys (Heyward/Almora/Jay in general or Heyward/Schwarbs vs LHP) so he could potentially help the big league team if needed. I think the bat plays.
  19. You have that wrong with this team... They will lose to the Nuggest by double digits but somehow beat the Warriors.
  20. Remember how the Cardinals always seemed to get production out of no name minor leagues and prospect position players during a random call up? Hannemann is my pick to do that. Easy above average or better defense and speed are his base Zagunis is my pick for this, I could see him doing some similar things for us that Allen Craig did when he was good for those 2-3 years for the Cardinals.
  21. When are Davis an Rondon supposed to throw in a game? Are both presumed 100%?
  22. Stuff your sorries in a sack, Peterman
  23. Love this, thanks for doing it Southpaw
  24. Group A: Nolan Arenado Group B: Kris Bryant, Manny Machado Group C: Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, Jose Abreu Group D: Kole Calhoun, Josh Reddick, Francisco Lindor, Willson Contreras, Jorge Soler WC: PM'd
