  1. Okay I know the reality sucks. The Cubs won the last two games by their sheer talent alone. I'll take sheer talent everyday over luck, sequencing, unclutchness or whatever it is you believe and we'll see who wins out at the end of the season
  2. Walk off wins are the most fun wins anyways and walking off in the bottom half is gonna add extra fuel to the fire of our resurgence
  3. God damn it, Wily's been hitting piss rockets for a week+ now
  4. Duensing reminds me of when we had James Russell and he was good/getting results. His numbers were fine but watching him pitch always made me anxious with a feeling that he wasn't as good as the numbers show.
  5. As a Laker fan obviously yes, please I do this trade (saw it on a Real GM board) and think it's plenty for the Pacers for George with the limited leverage they have. It's light for the Bulls, imo, but not by much. Bulls fans how much more would have to be added? I think at least 1-2 future Lakers first round picks/swap rights and either the Bulls shouldn't be giving up 16 or get one of the Lakers picks in the 20s. Lakers in: Jimmy Butler & Paul George Lakers out: 2, Randle, Clarkson, Deng, Black, 27, 28 Chicago in: 2, Randle & Deng Chicago out: Butler, 16 Indiana in: Clarkson, Black, 16, 27, 28 Indiana out: Paul George
  6. Okay? Stupid/sub-optimal decisions turning out well doesn't make the decision any less stupid or sub-optimal. You can't play 162 games with an optimal lineup. Calling all moves that are sub-obtimal "stupid" displays an incredible lack of awareness of how a manager has to ride the wave of health, energy and roster limitations over 6 months. I understand that, LaStella at 3B just irrationally angers me because he's so bad there. I get with our current health it's necessary he be in the lineup somewhere. But for defensive purposes I'd rather have Bryant at 3B today, Happ in RF and Tommy at 2B with the guys playing today.
  7. LaStella has no business playing 3B at the major league level he played there 33 times last year for the world series champions Okay? Stupid/sub-optimal decisions turning out well doesn't make the decision any less stupid or sub-optimal.
  8. LaStella has no business playing 3B at the major league level
  9. The idiotic contracts of last offseason are really biting the Lakers in the ass right now. Had no reason giving Mozgov and Deng the contracts they did and now to offer maxes next offseason they need to attach real assets to get little back just to dump them. I really wanted to see Lonzo and Russell play together in the backcourt. horsefeathering idiot FO.
  10. I have some irrational prospect love for Zagunis
  11. Fitting.... https://twitter.com/BPWrigleyville/status/877121052568162304
  12. man, being a bulls fan is so frustrating almost all of the time, but it's always nice to be able to look at the knicks and realize how much worse it could be. what a wreck. Yeah, I guess they are delusional they can still win with Melo. As Bulls fans would you trade Jimmy for Porzingis and swap first round picks this year (jump from 16 to 8)? If the Knicks really think they can win with Melo and need more help I think they'd go for that.
  13. Wily Peralta continues to really struggle for the Brewers, has been moved to the pen for a few weeks now, I still really like him as a buy low guy if he gets DFA'd or they look to trade him for pennies on the dollar. I think there could be an elite relief pitcher in there if not a middle rotation starter still. I also think Bosio worked with him some when he was with the Brewers so a change of scenery/getting back with Bosio could help.
  14. Apparently the Knicks are shopping Porzingis, because that makes sense
  15. I think they'd do it, without a commitment. He'd come cheaper and they'd have all year to get him into playing there. I honestly figure we want 3, NJ's pick next year, more picks, and Smart and Crowder. I know how ridiculous that sounds, but that's how ridiculous I think our guys are in valuing Jimmy. I could live with #3, LAL/SAC pick, Smart, and Crowder. Shouldn't take a lot of massaging to fit Hayward and Butler under the cap with Crowder/Smart's contracts shipping out. I think that's fair and they should be able to fit Heyward/Blake as well. I do wonder if the Celtics would also try and get Lopez in a Jimmy trade since they struggled so much defending the rim/rebounding this year and also once Jimmy goes they might as well trade Lopez since he's not gonna be around for their next competitive window.
  16. Add Schwarber to the kinda injured, probably could use an off day or 3 pile with Russell and Heyward [tweet] [/tweet]
  17. Say what? As long as they don't hurt him I welcome a free baserunner via HBP to start the game in the bottom of the first tomorrow
  18. We have to lead the league in wild pitches/passed balls with runners advancing in high leverage spots
  19. He hit the ball hard in the AB Rizzo got thrown out at home, but yeah he's in a bit of a funk it seems like.
  20. He was, especially now that it seems Joe gets not using him back to back days
  21. If Rizzo can't will us to win with his hitting I'm fine if he just wants to start trying to literally kill opponents
