  1. Even if he's not and we are facing a RHP and Joe is fine punting defense early.... Go Schwarber/Happ (or Jay)/Willy LF to RF with Avila catching and then Zobrist or Happ at 2B.
  2. Because he's a switch hitter and they hadn't pulled Foltynewicz yet? I know why you PH Lackey there. Just got to hope the pen holds up. I was only lightly paying attention, didn't know Folty wasn't pulled. At least send Jay up there in that case....
  3. Nice, Happ. The team RISP avg has to of had some nice positive regression this homestand
  4. Sneaky fast Bryant is back after, I'm guessing, that ankle injury had him looking not as fast on those ground balls lately
  5. This crowd must have started drinking at 7 am, that's the 3rd routine shallow flyball to CF they reacted like the ball was going off the scoreboard
  6. Yeah this is what I'm saying. It's all good. It's moot now. Forgot about that whole part
  7. If I had to guess, with the Martin trade, I'd say Almora, Caritini and one or 2 of the minor league arms For Verlander? Maybe you mean that deal would go down in the offseason (although I think the Cubs like the idea of a cheap backup C for the next 6 years and want to hold onto him) because there's no way they could trade those guys this year. If they wanted him tonight it would probably be like Alzolay, Rucker, D.J... maybe? Well you sad best. That was my best guess at the "best"
  8. If I had to guess, with the Martin trade, I'd say Almora, Caritini and one or 2 of the minor league arms
  9. This seems like much more of a move for next year than this year, imo. Sure he'll maybe be up for defense the rest of the year but doubt he gets many, if any, starts.
  10. Jay isn't a very good defensive CF
  11. So now Verlander is going to the Astros
  12. If he's controlled through next year I guess he's Jays replacement? Or else maybe Almora was suppose to go in a Verlander trade and this was his replacement?
  13. Odd trade for sure is he controllable/have options for next year?
  14. Ok give them Eddie Butler and call it a day
  15. God damn it, he's gonna have to be the Schwarber for the playoffs this year https://twitter.com/carriemuskat/status/903458378776801280
  16. :flythew: First time all year these idiots have won a game after scoring a billion runs the night before. Good to see
  17. Looking at Freeman's Fangraphs page, he's not particularly good at baseball.
