    He’s made a mechanical change, he has like a .6 era for a few months now, gets like 80% GBs, And his velocity is up are the spark notes

    I really doubt the Marlins do that. They are supposedly asking for Robles and Kieboom already, two likely top 50 guys, and the Nationals are balking, and I don't see how the Cubs can cover the prospect difference to justify it. The idea would be Jeets and the fellas overvalue Almora like a good chunk of the fan base and he’s a “local guy.” Also could be a Nats prospect along with ours (not their top tier ones).

    There’s some really intriguing things about Ziegler on top of this, he has a crazy GB rate and has given up like 2 runs in his last ~30 appearances

    3 team trade...... Almora and prospects to Marlins, Realmuto to Nats, Bryce, Maybin and Ziegler to Cubs Then separate trade of Happ and Monty and prospects for DeGrom

    Ideally a 3 team trade where some combo of Happ, Almora and Monty and prospects go out and we end up with Bryce and a starter. But just for Bryce, Caritini is like the most I’m giving up off the MLB roster and I’m not trading Amaya for him

    DeGrom is the only guy out there I’d include Happ for, I think, I’m definitely not trading him for Archer and Stroman I go back and forth on. My hunch is that it is Stroman and would take something like Happ, Monty and 2 not great prospects.

    Nope, pass. If we are spending real money Britton, Miller, Or Ottavino (he’s my #1 target if we are spending anything real on RPs) would be the only guys I’d spend money on. If not just bargain hunt and I have no interest in Wilson coming back. Smyly/Monty are also LH pen options to start next year.

    I've never read "plus raw power" in the future for Brennen Davis in any scouting report. He is super athletic and 6'4", but he's a skinny dude. He's listed at 175 lbs. right now. He might develop power down the road, but I'd rather he just focus on making contact. Chili, is that you??

    They showed video of him playing catch (in the rain!) for a few minutes and A-Rod tried to claim it was distracting the team from the mission of winning games. It was billymadisonnopointsgodhavemercyonyoursoul.gif worthy A-Rod is a dolt. I didn’t say it was a good narrative but the guy has the label. We can whine about it all we want. And it’s a “narrative” because dip horsefeathers guys with a national medium to speak like A-Rod, Gordo, Jesse Rogers, etc continue to make up false narratives about the guy
