  1. Like it, hopefully it means Madrigal trade is coming to make room on the 40-man.
  2. TIGER
  3. The American and Puerto Rico one’s look exactly as same as the last WBC, no? I was in Puerto Rico when they won the last one and bought a hat, it looks exactly the same I feel. I have it somewhere in my closet.
  4. We got a lot of guys in this thing,
  5. I think this may be more a LT move and also a way to smooth out some money for a Machado extension.
  6. This is real
  7. Wow... what a complete garbage take. They literally have the 21st most difficult schedule. They are the KenPom #1 rated offense in the country and the #20 rated defense. They have wins against #12 Gonzaga and #14 Marquette. Edey is consistent with his low post game. He is almost automatic if he's not double teamed. I wouldn't dare say he's an NBA talent, but he's a dominant NCAA baller. He's a matchup nightmare for 95% of college teams. The other 5% are only able to limit the damage. If you're judging Smith off of just the IU game, your lazy. If you're judging him on his full resume, you're just flat out wrong. He's been great all year long and had a poor game. No need to blow things out of proportion here. Give IU and Woodson a lot of credit. They had a great game plan and executed it well. That in no way discredits Purdue and their accomplishments. They did not play their best game in a hostile Assembly Hall. These things happen in college basketball. I think they’re incredibly mediocre and very beatable, but in a year where there’s no good teams and everyone is on the spectrum of suck maybe they sneak through but I am not a fan of what I saw yesterday (granted haven’t watched them much).
  8. Purdue is incredibly overrated. This number #3 PG stinks and seemingly plays the whole game and controls the game tempo for them and touches the ball so much, the other white forward/guards suck too. And the big guy is a stiff, he can’t create horsefeathers for himself and probably is playing overseas next year, don’t think he’s an NBA player. Their record is almost entirely because the BIG sucks and they’ve had a weak schedule. Wouldn’t be surprised if they’re a round 2 exit and would be shocked if they make it past round 3.
  9. I'll go the other way and say the only reason to send him back to the low minors is the injury. Whatever he has to prove isn't going to happen in High A He’s proven nothing in A ball. Throw in he had a significant injury it may be wise to ease him back. Plus on top of the the injury he also hasn’t proven he’s worth a promotion and/or is really any good yet in A ball and an aggressive promotion doesn’t seem smart.
  10. Yeah the pen is going to be a strength, likely the second best strength behind the defense. It may take until May/June to figure out all the moving parts but the parts are there. I hope we add Smith, Britton or Nelson as our last pen add once we can 60-day guys. As of today I’d guess Wick is the “closer.”
  11. Don’t be stunned when that affiliate is Tennessee! There’s no reason to start him at AA, he has so much more to prove and also coming back from a really bad injury he needs to be eased in from.
  12. He could be a difference-maker this year. Best case he destroys AAA for two months. Bellinger holds his own at the plate and brings back a good MLB-ready pitching prospect in July. If Bellinger is playing well enough to bring anything back and Davis is proving he’s ready to come up, we’re probably in WC contention at least and the roster/lineup can fit both in.
  13. I think he’s still our best prospect in terms of overall value and upside (Hernandez maybe as the upside call if he can stick at SS).
  14. I only saw the end of the game, but the questionable calls looked mostly right to me. The grounding call was right, imo. The shove out of bounds at the end had to be called. Was it earlier in the game where you disagree? The Chiefs were getting calls all game and away with things and the 49ers absolutely got fucked in their game too. Maybe the outcomes end up being the same but the Eagles and Chiefs got a lot of help.
  15. Reed is such a schmuck
  16. The Refs were incredibly bad today
  17. Vs RHP I think I’d do something like this. Lots of L/R balance and blends the OBP/Power/Contact guys back to back. Happ LF Suzuki RF Hosmer 1B/DH Swanson SS Mancini/Mervis DH1B Nico 2B Bellinger CF Wisdom/Morel/Mckinstry/Mastrobuoni 3B (pick the best matchup for the day) Gomes/Barnhart C
  18. I have no issue with Rolen being in, he had a perfectly good career. But if the gatekeepers think he’s a HOF’er there’s like 40+ guys who need to be in too, imo. Which I’m cool with since it should be a history of the game thing vs some contrived voting values with all sorts of moving targets.
  19. That sucks to lose Leiter. He’s a useful MLB pitcher to some capacity. Hope he lands somewhere to get a chance.
  20. “Cubs don’t draft and develop pitchers” *Cubs start proving they can develop pitchers with a new regime and drafting them and some of them get hurt, which is an inherent risk.* “Well not like that.”
  21. lmfao “Stick around after this Bryson putt for a 1994 episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer!”
  22. Why was he available on waivers? What are the warts? He’s 31/32, no options left. Don’t know the ins and outs of the Jays roster but I’d assume they’re under a decent roster crunch, plus despite the velo and stuff he hasn’t really missed bats yet. Probably was more a victim of their roster construction vs cutting him because they didn’t like him.
  23. I like this move a lot
  24. Lol, The CW!?!!!
  25. I certainly hope that isn't the case. At some point, this front office has to be able to get extensions worked out for players not named David Bote. The did the first time with Rizzo too. I think Rizzo/Javy/KB all overvalued (and now we’ll see on Willy) what they thought they were worth and actually worth and all 4 of their contracts now I don’t think anyone would want.
