  1. That was ugly, Bote. Guy throws 80 MPH junk, don’t get why there’s guessing. It’s not like Thor where you have to guess between 98 fastball and 92 slider and change
  2. Didn’t call that a strike earlier, horsefeathers
  3. And the cardinals and Brewers avoid facing both in their series. It's a bit horsefeathers that we draw Foltynewicz in a 1 game series against the Braves, but anyways we are missing Nola and Jake in the Phillies series so I won't complain. As I pointed out in the Thor GT, we are best in the league vs velocity this year. So while on paper Folty may be a tough matchup. It might not be too bad for us.
  4. Yeah that makes sense, still would be nice if us out of market could still get the network through a provider/app/streaming for non-game content. Though I don't know if that's feasible or even allowed. If you have a TV provider with those types of options, I don't even why you wouldn't. Like a full directv package gets you all the RSNs they provide (or at least it used to). Just can't get the games on it. My provider (Charter) doesn’t offer that, may need to look at Dish or Direct TV if the Cubs network is on there.
  5. Braves claimed and traded for Renee Rivera. Really wanted us to get him. Wish we just would’ve given up some Rollie Lacy type filler for him or Maldonado before the July deadline.
  6. Seriously what ever happened to Bass? Norwood is the 26th man. Underwood isnt on the active roster I don't think. Kintzler should be available to give up a couple of runs. Forgot about Kintzler. He should be available too.... Bass got hand foot and mouth disease after his decent ~6 innings, then came back and was awful in his 1 or 2 appearances and got hurt again (groin maybe?) and has been awful in the minors since. He's not even on the 40-man anymore, they exposed him to waivers or whatever and he went unclaimed.
  7. Kinda wish Happ was at 3B, Tommy at 2B and Zobrist in RF. Tommy is atrocious at 3B.
  8. He was starting there in Iowa like once a week this year and played there other years in the minors. He seems athletic enough to not be totally awful there (the athleticism is why I hold out hope he could play OF and hopefully CF in a platoon role next year to make Almora go away). Don't think he's going to be good enough to play there a ton but think you can get away with it here and there and in emergency situations.
  9. Awesome because we have Foltynewicz tomorrow and potentially Scherzer and Strasburg next week And the cardinals and Brewers avoid facing both in their series. The VBs or Cardinals face Scherzer this weekend or next week. VBs are in DC for the weekend and Cardinals go there for the next series starting Monday. Scherzer could go on regular rest Sunday vs the VBs or extra rest Monday vs the Cardinals.
  10. However out of market fans watch them now would almost certainly be the same way they'd see them on the Cubs network. This is really only materially different to the local market, in that there would no longer be any OTA broadcasts (WGN + ABC) and they would be on a different channel. If you watch them on Extra Innings now, that's how you'll watch them. If you have MLB.tv, that's how you'll watch them. Yeah that makes sense, still would be nice if us out of market could still get the network through a provider/app/streaming for non-game content. Though I don't know if that's feasible or even allowed.
  11. We get a 26th man for this one. Available bullpen arms are Norwood, Underwood, De La Rosa, Wilson, Randy, maybe Chavez and Steve. Carl and Strop are both unavailable, would guess Steve is too.
  12. It’s almost like he sucks and his hot start was incredibly unsustainable and not indicative of his real talent. I don’t like to wish injury on a guy, but hopefully he just turns an ankle or pulls a hamstring and is done for the rest of the year so Joe can’t play him anymore. Throw Bryant in RF and Heyward in CF. I think he's the guy of the last few years, and cumulatively what he is this year. A .700-.750 OPS guy with plus defense, which has value but isn't like, a star level player. He's just clearly so [expletive] lost right now that he needs to sit for a while and try to get *it* back, because playing through it isn't working for him. His defense isn’t even that good and a player with his profile of a .700 OPS is pretty useless. His K rate is north of 20% vs RHP, he isn’t even contacty like so many think.
  13. 5-0 in games started by Kershaw, Scherzer, DeGrom x2, And Syndergaard

  15. .720 in August, still not great but he’s been better.
  16. Can you get whatever the Yankees or Dodgers have set up out of market or are their networks only available in market? I’d guess us out of market couldn’t get it and still would need to do MLBTV or Extra Innings or whatever it’s called through Dish/Direct TV to watch games. It would be sweet if you could get their network through an app/online or through Direct TV/Dish.
  17. I want Almora off this team so bad. Great swing and contact 2-0, horsefeathering idiot.
  18. horsefeathers off Joe with the lineups and horsefeathers off Caratini
  19. Just half assed dog horsefeathers bunt attempts, Javy
