  1. Chris Taylor is the biggest fraud on this field tonight, horsefeathers that horsefeathers
  2. LOL, charmed horsefeathering team. I look forward to Dodger lineouts the rest of the game too.
  3. Nico 3-5, 3 singles and 1K today.
  4. Fangraphs wrote about that around the deadline https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/why-the-cubs-and-yankees-should-swap-tyler-chatwood-and-sonny-gray/
  5. The league wide offensive drop off probably is due to more bullpening (more platoon disadvantage for hitters, more premium stuff faced, less seeing a SP 3rd time, etc) and I think the ball wasn’t as juiced this year (Someone did one of those x-ray or whatever studies with balls from this year vs last year around the ASB I think).
  6. I was always cautious to blame Chili for the overall offense trending down, especially in the 2nd half when there were circumstances with injuries, etc with guys that no hitting coach would fix. I figured I’d trust the FO with whatever direction they went with him this offseason with keeping him or letting him go. Since they let him go I’ll believe he had at least some cause/blame for it, I don’t think he was the only reason but believed he caused some of it. I think he really fucked up Willy the most just from the eye test. It was clear he was taking the contact/GB/oppo approach and running with it most of the year, but again he did catch a lot of innings and had to be dealing with some injuries and fatigue that we just can’t blame Chili 100% for it.
  7. Theo giving one last chance to Chili to explain his teachings, philosophy and theories to save his job.
  8. The pitch to Bryce couldn't be simpler now. Contract offer will be within 95% of his max offer, gets to play with his friend, gets to play in a market and for a team to maximize endorsements, brings to the offense what we are needing, can be the signing that signals and org change back to OBP/SLG, etc. He can be the man without needing to necessarily be the man with the supporting cast but can also be treated as the guy that fixes things.
  9. Javy just completely ignored Chili Ball this year I feel like, Rizzo probably did too come May/June. But Javy was probably never about it, he fixed himself/figured out on his own what he had to do.
  10. He seemed like a decent dude but think his way of thinking is too outdated to be 100% the way to go. I think his theory can fit a smaller role within an org but it shouldn’t be the prevailing theory. Hopefully he finds work somewhere.
  11. This guy is a good follow along with that Cubs Prospect guy if you’re at all interested in Cubs prospects they’re must follows, fwiw.
  12. They handled it really poorly for sure and I think Thibs isn’t that great a coach. But this is still a lot of Jimmy just being a complete horsefeathers and thinking he’s way better than he really is. I wouldn’t want my team to have him at this point and give him the big extension. I think he’s just incredibly hard to get along with and don’t think you ever are winning with him.
  13. Man, Gio in game 1 and Miley in game 2. How did these losers reach the NLCS. The Dodgers are going to destroy them. They’re destined to just keep winning despite it making no sense. No reason to think otherwise. Starting a guy with the 4th worst BB%, 20th worst FIP, and 10th worst xFIP in MLB of qualified starters this year will somehow work out for them tomorrow same with starting Wade Miley Saturday who was nearly out of baseball going in to the year.
  14. The Brewers are starting Gio in game one, I’m sure the guy who walks the world vs the team with the highest BB rate will somehow go 5-6 shutout tomorrow because Brewers. Miley starts game 2.
  15. Simmons is awesome but yeah, the Angels are more likely to keep him. They absolutely should be all about him if he were to become available. Secretly I want two bats I’m looking for a RHH that can handle CF. Who is out there? How are we not talking about Adam Conley more as a trade target? I was all about Conley at the deadline and wanted him bad. He was awful post deadline though, would want to make sure no injuries or whatever happened there since I can’t say I followed him at all after the deadline. RHH for CF you have Maybin and Jackson in FA, McCutchen in only the rarest of cases. Ketel Marte has some very limited CF time in the majors and minors.
  16. I’m guessing the Angels will try and fake compete again, but if they look to trade some stuff off I’d have a lot of interest in Andrelton Simmons. He is 29/30 and has 2 years left on his deal, he seems to have learned how to hit a bit the last 2 years and been a not awful hitter the last 2 years and he’s the best defensive SS in MLB. Even if they are trying to win maybe there’s still something to be worked out there with some combo of Schwarber/Happ/Monty/etc types. They would save some money picking from that pool and have a bloated payroll which could free up some money to spend elsewhere.
  17. If Arizona is blowing it up Bradley would be a really nice target. Maybe they view him as part of the future, but Ketel Marte would also be a nice pickup too as the backup MIF target.
  18. Lol, Kaplan is a horsefeathering idiot
  19. Not that I think we will be in play but I wouldn’t even come close to offering Kimbrel the mega deal this offseason. I do like Robertson a lot, very Cishek is in dependability. Him and Chavez back would be a very solid, though unspectacular bullpen offseason. Morrow/Strop/Carl/Robertson/Cishek/Chavez/Month/Smyly pen to start the year with Mills, Mekkes, Norwood, Alzolay, Randy, Maples, And Webster in Iowa for depth. Robertson would definitely feel like locking in production over potential that Theo mentioned
