  1. Another scoreless, walkless inning by Chatwood. Did give up 2 hits but one was a weak GB finding a hole. Got a double play to end the inning.
  2. Chatwood with 1IP 0R 0H 0BB 1K
  3. Q with 3IP 0R 1H 1BB 2K (at least 1 K was on the change and he threw it often). Man it would be so awesome if we got 3.5-4+ win Q and Yu this year along with regular Hendricks, Lester and Hamels could just go be ~4 era dudes then. Cishek and Brach with scoreless innings as well, Strop a little rocky in his first game this spring.
  4. He was a pitcher at the plate for 50%+ of the year. From middle June on he had a wRC+ in the 40s and wOBA under .250.
  5. I have bad news for you if you think that was the problem, Albert
  6. Sounds like Q is having a nice game today, got at least 1K on a change up. We also got Billy Hamilton to hit in to a double play for the first time ever, the season is already a success. Almora is also leading off vs a RHP and is 0-2 with two ground outs to SS on 2 pitches, so he’s ready for the season.
  7. I would guess not actually. I think the Dodgers and Astros (and maybe Yankees?) are WAY ahead of the curve on this sort of stuff, and then we're probably in that second tier of smart teams. I mean in the article they mention that they've already got like 3-4 years of Kinatrax data, whereas Rapsodo and Edgertronic have only really blown up league wide over the last 18-24 months. The Astros are ahead of everybody in this stuff and they just outright cheat, but I think we’re decently behind a lot more teams than you think (I’d add the Rays and Brewers amongst others to the above mentioned). At least in terms of having guys who truly know how to use this stuff and interpret/implement it to our benefit it.
  8. We’re probably still way behind a lot of teams on this stuff. But good to see we’re finally doing things like this.
  9. No 3 batter minimum, rest of the rules are there though. Also added the rule to limit Dodger like roster manipulation for pitchers going to 15 from 10 days from calling a guy up after he goes down.
  10. He did do the hesitation move at least once (abbreviated) with a runner on and nearly fell over but did throw a strike still.
  11. Carl looked pretty good. Lots of strikes (think 17 of 21 pitches). Curve/slider looked good too off of the FB.
  12. It probably won't shorten game time at all. Any time saved by not making a pitching change will be offset by a pitcher afraid to throw strikes to a guy he doesn't feel he can get out, and/or shenanigans teams will apply to get around the rule. And any rule that favors the offense does not cut time out of the game. It's just such a pointlessly dumb rule. i don't even know that game duration is the issue, so much as big gaps of time where nothing horsefeathering happens and you gotta sit there and watch Bruce Bochy or whoever do their interminable waddle to the pitchers mound followed by eighteen meaningless warmup tosses before the same exercise gets repeated in two minutes after the new guy issues a walk it's the worst part of baseball and nobody likes it Some of that stuff is kinda fundamentally part of baseball though..... Nothing horsefeathering happens a lot of the time. Forcing pitchers to face 3 batters, at minimum, I don't see making things all that more aesthetically pleasing (especially if the guy comes in and sucks and you have to sit and watch some guy be wild and struggle or whatever). If a guy sucks, you should be able to pull him out of the game and replace him. Now I agree on the manager waddling, maybe don't have them come to the mound anymore and make the change from the bench by yelling out to the HP you are making a change/calling the pen to send a guy in. There you saved the fans from seeing managers waddle around without making up a new stupid rule.
  13. Willy just hit an inside the park HR (RCF, hit well but Trout misplayed it and should've caught it). He got around the bases fast.
  14. Yeah if this goes in to place that seems like the simple answer. Maybe not DL but can’t pitch in the next 2-3 games at least.
  15. How does it definitely make the game better though? Because we’ll save maybe 7 min a game on pitching changes (not to say this won’t make games longer since there’s chances for blowups for guys forcing them to face 3 batters and creating long innings)? There’s far more downside than upside, imo. i dont know how it makes the game better, i just dont think it makes it worse either, just different. I really dont care one way or the other so i dont know why im even posting (very on brand for me.) Jersey laid out pretty much all the reasons I have about why this is bad and dumb. I just don’t see the upside/making the game better and see a ton of downside.

  17. It really is, it fundamentally changes things. LOOGY’s will become extinct amongst other stupid aspects of it. I get limiting guys in September but 28 seems low (unless it’s on a game to game basis I guess and can shuffle guys on and off at will to the 28 from the 40) but it also helps keep salaries down since there’s less guys seeing major league time. Also limiting pitchers on rosters (especially in September) seems really dumb. I just don’t get these except adding a 26th man and fail to see how this improves the game or adds viewers in any way.
  18. [tweet] [/tweet] Most of these are really horsefeathering stupid, but guessing the players/union jumped at accepting anything that added another major league job on every team.
  19. 2IP 0R 0H 1BB 3Ks for Yu’s fnal line
