  1. Just like the tallest building judges! (do we have an axe-grinding emoticon?) I really try to avoid thinking about the way people like Morgan look at wins, but it's better than thinking about the cubs atm. It's completely insane that Morgan thinks that pitchers are going to give up a certain number of runs in a year and can choose to distribute the runs when they see fit (which is the only conceivable way that a pitcher could "know how to win"). "I know my team is going to score 8 runs today and 2 next time I start, so if I give up 6 today and 0 next time, we'll get 2 wins." Insane.
  2. I'll assume you mean you have to believe this to remain sane
  3. thats a pretty serious whipping
  4. That sounds like a pretty big weakness. Also a pretty big strength, seeing as Batman is the only superhero, that can get his hands on kryptonite at anytime he wants. ? Kryptonite is a problem for other super heroes as well?
  5. Check the current poll on cubs.com. Giles is 4th place in "most wanted FA" with 8% of the vote after Damon with 47%.
  6. did he actually say that?
  7. If a closer pitched 120 scoreless innings, I could see giving them the cy.
  8. It's beyond not too interesting, it's painful to watch. ESPN sucks. I watched Phillips play Red Sox GM on Sunday and thought it was a little hokey. Then they showed a shot of "reporters" raising their hands and shouting out questions. Suddenly it wasn't hokey anymore. It went straight to stupid. I endured it also - the worse part is that flash bulbs keep going off throughout the whole thing................as if? Tell me you wouldn't rather watch it again than hendry announcing he signed neifi
  9. I know a guy who's had 3rd row seats by 1st base for decades. He's considering not keeping them.
  10. where did that line come from?
  11. My thoughts on hendry's plan: It's terrible. Bloody awful. A disgrace. I think the "do what you think the WS champ did that made them win" hypothesis has some validity.
  12. I just read the poll as do you"Have faith in Hendry to get us to the playoffs in 2006?" yes/no? Do I have faith hendry can get this team to third place in our division? No.
  13. cubs.com link Please, learn to format urls (like I did here, click the quote button and you can see what I did). Stretching the screen is annoying. Oh, and fire hendry already. Twice. My prediction: if furcal is signed, neifi starting at 2nd, batting 2nd. If furcal isn't, neifi at ss, batting 2nd. Way to make the team worse (pending the walker trade, of course)
  14. That sounds like a pretty big weakness.
  15. I agree. Both stadiums are significant, for different reasons. I'm not sure why anyone would try to make an argument otherwise. Then why are you perpetuating the argument for one side? On second thought, don't answer that. This topic needs to die. I'm not perpetuating it "for one side". I'm saying that both stadiums are equally significant. Others have used words like "preposterous", and implied that it's funny that Cardinal fans are emotional over the whole thing. To me, it's not like that. Repeating a bad argument is perpetuating it. Busch has more for you. True. Wrigley has more for me. Also true. but there's a third aspect to this: to a neutral observer, which is more significant? If you were writing a history of baseball, which would feature more significantly? If you were writing a history of American pop-culture?
  16. ??? You have a button below your alt key?
  17. Just enough to win. that's a relief.
  18. He's terrible at deciding what to challenge
  19. Incredible play to get the first down. Too bad the refs screw you. And of course he's not gonna throw the flag, boo
  20. They should have run that play on first down. going up the middle
  21. Yes, out forthe rest of the game with a rib injury
  22. Too bad orton runs like me fake the punt.
  23. Another deep ball thrown to the dback. he's just terrible at that
  24. WAIting for the intentional grounding flag still waiting
