    Where did the base clogging thing come from? Did Baker really say that? He said guys who walk and aren't fast clog the bases. Of course, if some of us said that, we'd mean it in a positive way.

    I think that's probably true for most small-market baseball cities. Using Chicago as your curve is a little unreasonable. Chicago is on another level. I think it was lincoln nebraska I was in that was totally deserted on a weekend night. Certainly nothing like madison.

    they stopped selling beer half an hour before the maddux 3000 strikeout game started. one of my friends had managed to get some and the 2 behind him in line had their orders in when they got cut off. It really hurt the rowdiness late in the game (aside from the hawkins appearance)

SCARY really if you think about it... I don't think philosophers have ever been able to prove that there is any objective reality, have they? Maybe Aquinas. Maybe. I'll have to find my book to look it up, but most argue for the concept of subjectivity and relativity when it comes to the world around us. Philosiphers would make lousy baseball scouts/GM's. I thought Aquinas' argument relied upon the presence of God. I wonder how desperate descartes was when he got to that point

    Yes.. because the offense is HORRID. They have scored 2 TDs in the last 2 games.. and both were set up inside the opp. 10 yd. line because of a takeaway from the D. Aside from that ... they have 4 FGs in 2 weeks for their "offensive output." THAT is sickening .. and eventually - especially in the playoffs .. that won't get it done. Meet your 2000 world champion baltimore ravens. edit: also, they were going against the second and third best defenses in the NFC

    The only afc games on right now are miami/oak and jacksonville/AZ. Not much CBS can do about it

    It doesn't help that they didn't really throw one deep ball all game. When the defense can key in on a 15-20 yard bubble it's probably harder to be accurate. He threw 2 over 25 yards. one of them was at least 30.
