  1. Shaw pitching the top half of an inning followed by Montgomery pitching in the bottom half of that same inning is obviously a good formula for us.
  2. Unless there is a camera shot aimed right at Gray's back there's no way to actually tell if he is balking. The left foot of a pitcher has to move towards 1B when making a move to 1B. His body was actually moving back towards 3B. His left foot was closer to 3B after his move than it was before the move. It was more egregious on the move before the pickoff. You can see all that from the CF camera. Javy is fun.
  3. So, I think that was only one pitch in the K zone on 14 pitches by Freeman. I think the ball Schwarver fouled off was out of the zone.
  4. Concerned? No. Annoyed? Since about the middle of yesteday’s Game.
  5. I’m pretty annoyed that Darvish pitched to 7-8-9 there.
  6. I ask because I think I would have them just go straight in every time. And this is from a purely competitive standpoint. Not even talking about injuries. I think over the course of a season you’re likely to give the other team more free outs at first base for accidentally (or in the umpire’s judgement) breaking the rules than you are going to save by breaking up the throw. Probably shouldn’t have asked the poll the day after the Yankees/Red Sox. Didn’t even realize that had happened when I asked the question.
  7. What should be the organizational strategy for breaking up double plays?
  8. Warning track is especially hard and/or ball is juiced. Third very high bounce already tonight.
  9. I believe only when there is interference of some sort, but even then I’ve never seen them actually do anything but 2 bases for anybody. I’d imagine the opposing manager would come unglued if somebody made that decision.
  10. Not available for Friday games. It’s only available for nights and weekends.
  11. I feel like one of the recent new stadiums was running behind and they knew it so they scheduled the team to play like 4 or 5 road series before coming home, but I can’t remember which one. Obviously a similar situation to the Cubs renovations.
  12. That’s Marty Foster. He’s on West’s crew. Joe must be rubbing off on him.
  13. On the Brewers broadcast they showed a shot where LaStella was just about to reach 3B as the RF is picking the ball up at the wall 360 feet from home plate. I think that was an awful decision to not send LaStella. Even with 0 outs. Especially since you have a whole lot of swing and miss coming up anyway.
  14. Really want to know what that conversation was between Bryant and Butterfield in the dugout. Definitely seemed like KB didn’t like something (I’m assuming something with the strategy in the last AB). Also, seemed like Butterfield really wanted him to take it off camera.
  15. 2016 offense and improved pitching, going to be a good year I agree.
  16. 147 pitches through 6 innings for the Brewers. How is this game tied?
  17. I approve of the Cubs approaches tonight. My goodness. Reminds me of early 2016 games.
  18. Ian Happ looks like a fake computer generated player in a video game.
  19. I’m pretty encouraged by Zobrist to this point. Really think there was something to the wrist.
