  1. Rivers has way too much time back there.
  2. You are correct - Missouri might be predominantly Midwestern culture, but there's still a lot of Southern culture and dialect in it (even stretching from the east end to the west end around Joplin). A good hour+ south of St. Louis, sure, but it stretches from the east (adjacent to Cairo, IL) all the way to the west end past Joplin. That's circa 330 miles in width complemented with the southern 35% of the state. Southern culture and dialect is a far second in the state, but they're moreso a unique variation to the SEC rather than an outlier (which they're definitely not IMO). There are a lot of roots in common, just depends where in the state you're looking. I am from SE Missouri, 100 miles straight south of St. Louis. The culture is very mixed in that area but is definitely "southern" starting just 30 miles south of us. Also, Missouri was neither slave nor free. It was a constant debate that was never really settled. As a matter of fact, we had two governors during the Civil War, one confederate and one union. There is a large portion of people that follow SEC football more than Big XII football in that area.
  3. which article is that quote from? It's from Little Big League.
  4. Deion Sanders, I live in Cleveland. The Packers have been on TV 6 out of 8 weeks. I don't need DirecTV.
  5. Who gives a [expletive] about experience, its about maximizing your revenue that can be put back into the team. With that said, I highly doubt they will replace the scoreboard, nor would I want that. But, the point of a jumbotron isn't replays or kiss cams, its about advertising dollars.
  6. I don't like all the crap that comes with a video board. I hate when attention is constantly drawn to the board and away from the field. I feel it severely deteriorates the experience. However, if it means the Cubs win more then put one up. I would like something similar in size to Comerica Park's video board, only nicer. It's a bit outdated. However, the board doesn't draw the entire stadiums attention.
  7. Step back for a second and realize the rain-out didn't do a damn thing to help them win last night's game. I thought was major indication of how I feel about curses, etc. Also, everything I said has to do with their increased chances of winning tonight because of the extra day...
  8. In my opinion the rainout helped the Cardinals more than the Rangers. TLR has gone to the pen early more often than not this postseason. Carpenter wouldn't have been able to start a Game 7. The Rangers have not made any changes to their pitching plans based on the rainout. I don't believe in curses or that Divine intervention occurs in professional sports, but the culmination of everything the last 6 weeks or so definitely makes it APPEAR that way.
  9. I'm still here, but not happy about it. The office is going to be ass today. I'm landing in St. Louis at 9:22 tonight. Probably will be a good thing that I won't see the beginning of the game. If Texas is up big, my brother and I are going to the stadium. Otherwise, no way.
  10. Do we need a head count so we know who is still alive?
  11. Worst. Non-Cubs game. Ever.
  12. You get Theriot out, and then you walk Pujols. No question. Pujols has been basically neutralized for the large majority of this series. Berkman has not.
  13. Let's not forget that apparently all opposing RF don't know how to catch a ball near the wall at Busch this postseason.
  14. So now they get to use the pitcher to move the tying run into scoring position...
  15. Oh baby! Finish them!
  16. Corey Hart invaded Cruz's body. What the crap!!!!!!!!!!! I hate every single team that gave Cardinals fans that joy they just got.
  17. I enjoyed every moment of that AB.
  18. Just unbelievable, but YESSSSS! Huge!
  19. Pujols' last AB as a Cardinal?!
  20. I would be confident with Holland finishing this game as long as he appears to be fine out there.
