  1. I remember when all I would do is wait around for Sosa AB.
  2. One of my favorite regular season moments. Watched at a friend's house (Cardinals fan). His sister still thinks I'm a lunatic because of my reaction.
  3. Baez only hits HR when nobody is on base. He's so selfish.
  4. No gif yet, but Brendan Ryan's bat hits the ball twice on the same pitch. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/twice-is-nice-brendan-ryan-hits-ball-two-times-on-one-swing?ymd=20140807&content_id=88426572&vkey=news_mlb
  5. I mean, I hate cats and all, but that's a little far. Oh, Cole Hamels has been claimed off waivers by a mystery team.
  6. Bolded is pretty much the only notable game I've ever been to. I did see Soriano's walk-off slam against Houston, though, which was pretty sweet. Ok, here's my list. Pretty exciting: Maddux 3000 K Griffey 500 HR Favre all-time passing yardage record Marcus Allen all-time rushing TD record Furcal unassisted Triple Play Sosa's franchise-setting HR 545 Miguel Cabrera clinching the Triple Crown Kind of cool: Lance Berkman is scared of lightning/there's a tornado over there game Soriano walkoff grand slam (and Aaron Miles and Justin Maxwell) The Prior game chronicled in Three Nights in August Sosa 486 foot (I think that was the distance given) HR off Randy Johnson (6/9/99) Cubs win 1-0 on Scott Servais HR (8/5/95) Steve Trachsel gives up leadoff 2B to Brian Hunter and then does not allow hit for the rest of the game* (5/13/96) *Also, first game at Wrigley and where I learned to keep score. I think my parents still have the scorecard.
  7. Yeah, but let's keep the negativity out of the Javy thread.
  8. damn so basically you witnessed the collapse first hand wasn't goony at the victor diaz game or am i thinking of someone else here? We had plans on being at the last weekend of 2003 and didn't. My parents said they would not make that mistake again and bought tickets to all these games before the season started in 2004. We had tickets to the season finale but did not go. Istill vividly remember a lot from those games. Austin freaking Kearns.
  9. I was at Sammy Sosa's last 4 games as a Cub. All losses, but saw his franchise-setting career HRs 544/545 as well.
  10. Just woke up. I'm not even surprised.
  11. Morales is touching all over the place and looks to have a smudge on his left sleeve and his hat. I think he's doctoring the ball.
  12. Is there more to the pic. It could say "Javier"...
  13. Today I saw a house burn down and an elevator crash in a hospital. But I also saw a bunch of Stealth bombers. Not sure what this means for Javy Day.
  14. I just wanted to be a part of this historic thread/day.
  15. This is how you breakup a double play. http://mlb.mlb.com/assets/images/4/4/0/75322440/belle_vina_yzpgubnl.gif
  16. Chips and salsa > wings > nachos, but they are all amazing. Jalapenos are a must on the nachos. Wings are good either with no sauce, bleu cheese or ranch.
  17. In my opinion Royals needed to either add somebody big or trade Shields. Standing pat should not have been an option.
  18. Arrieta is going to be robbed of a perfect game some point this season because the Cubs won't score for him.
  19. He's also the master of saying a whole bunch of words without saying anything and giving all kinds of opinions without giving any reason for his opinions.
  20. Why did they guy jump on the rail?
  21. I know, I know ERA, but still: Kazmir: 2.37 Lester: 2.52 Gray: 2.65 Samardzija: 2.92 Chavez: 3.44 Hammel: 3.87
