  1. Pretty angry too. Going to go to Wrigley though for the Royals @ Cubs. Also, 2011 was the summer I was in Cleveland for work, so I missed them last time as well.
  2. I have a Kerry Wood signed ticket stub from May 6, 1998 in awesome condition. No clue how you get something like that "graded." Long story short my dad's boss is loaded and it was his son's (he was at the game). Somehow my dad's boss got it and gave it to me (I'm guessing his son owed him money). This would have been 2000/2001. Due to the conditions that day there cannot be very many ticket stubs from that game in awesome condition and signed by Wood.
  3. Every now and then I go and look at this page and just laugh. http://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/NL/1981.shtml
  4. Not watching, but Gameday showed strike 1 way inside and strike 3 outside.
  5. My ticket prices went up about $200/ticket, but I'm ok with that. They added another tier of pricing in the Terrace Reserved IF called Terrace Reserved Preferred and my seats fell in there. I think this will help my resale value by more than $200 over the season because these seats are way better (you can see fly balls) than the majority of Terrace Reserved IF.
  6. I'm just saying, asa a fan, it would be nice to have an easy opener for once. I understand how the scheduling works and why they play who they play. Call it a first world of the NFL problem.
  7. In David's sig all the white players have their last names and all the non-white players have their first names/nickname. Racist.
  8. I know none of you guys feel sorry for us, not looking for pity, but it would be nice to get a cupcake for week one for once. Last four years: Saints 49ers 49ers Seahawks An argument could be made that each of these teams were the NFC favorite each season (if you discount the Packers for one or two of those years).
  9. The last 2 nights the Royals and Rangers have COMBINED for ONE walk (Andrus).
  10. If my calculations are correct with a win the Cubs will be .500 from 5/17 to today.
  11. TIL that for procedural reasons you want at least one of you MiLB teams to not make the playoffs. i.e. The Royals have been shuttling players back and forth lately and have been using their AA team instead of their AAA team because their AAA made the playoffs. A player that was sent to the AAA team would have to play with them for at least 10 days. However, if the team's season is over the player can return to the big league club before the 10 days.
  12. I'm currently in Hawai'i and was on a tour of the volcanoes in the Big Island. This girl from St Louis was talking to a young married couple from Toronto about all the awesome reasons to visit St Louis, like a lot of the museums are free and sometimes a good band is in town. The two from Toronto sounded genuinely interested in visiting. I didn't have the heart to warn them. As someone who lives here, there really is a lot of cool stuff to do, especially if it's a family vacation. Forest Park/Grant's Farm is a pretty cheap day with kids.
  13. $6 is the lowest price the Cardinals will allow on StubHub. There were thousands of $6 available this weekend. We had 9 people at the game Friday. Cost us $63 total. Sat in $58 seats.
  14. Way to angry at the moment to be considered a rational person.
  15. Yeah that was excellent. May as well place my order for Extra Innings for next season now. How much they charging for a full season these days? $200. Comes with MLB.tv and the AtBat app. I love it.
  16. I happened to be in St. Louis for work. Something came up last minute. Ended up going to the game with my whole family. What a freaking night! So pumped about Soler right now!
  17. We had an old guy in our town who made slideshows of all the sports as just a hobby. As in nobody asked him to or wanted him to. No sport was immune from 8th grade cheerleading/track all the way up to varsity football. Dude was weird. When I was in high school he had been doing it for over 15 years.
  18. A visual representation of my preferences. MLB NFL NHL NCAA Basketball NCAA Football There's a professional basketball league?
  19. I was able to load it, but it's on WGN, so I actually turned on the tube. Coghlan with a nice at bat to start the game... I'm at work, so no TV. I have MLBEI with DirecTV which comes with MLB.tv. After an hour on the phone with MLB.tv and DirecTV both pointing fingers at each other and neither wanting to initiate a conference call I conferenced them together and after doing that they both said, "We don't know why it says you're not subscribed anymore. We don't see that here. It should be working." Yippee.
  20. Anybody else getting a message from MLB.tv saying this game is not available to you?
  21. Ummm...Ok? As in the the ball was not going to hit the ground. I edited the original post because I knew that my point wasn't very clear.
  22. I think he thought it was either gone or going to get caught. Either way he did not think it was going to hit the ground in play. Still should have been running.
  23. No infield fly rule active with only one man on base. Doesn't have to be infield fly rule. 6.05(l) A batter is out when -- An infielder intentionally drops a fair fly ball or line drive, with first, first and second, first and third, or first, second and third base occupied before two are out. The ball is dead and runner or runners shall return to their original base or bases; http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/official_rules/batter_6.jsp
