  1. It's really disappointing; it was nice to be able to play ignorant and say there was no proof, but in the back of my mind I knew better. If Sammy admits his mistake and apologizes to the fans I see no reason not to forgive him.
  2. My sister, who can't even name 4 players between the Cubs and Sox combined, got a free ticket from one of her friends and they're right behind home. I just know she's going to be one of those idiots on the phone, waving at the camera while wearing her White Sox hat that she bought just for the sake of pissing me off. The world is a really unfair place sometimes.
  3. Well Derosa is almost a lock for type A status at the end of the season so the Indians are going to get some pretty decent value him. He really might end up being more expensive than I had initially considered.
  4. Cleveland really is a mystery right now. They're just as likely to start shopping Cliff Lee as they are to start picking up pieces and trying to make a run. If they do become sellers I wonder what it would take to get Shin-Soo Choo? I know he has two year mandatory military service and he must do it by the time he's 30 which means he has to start serving in 2010. It's the only reason I would think the Indians would even consider shopping him.
  5. Basically that Hendry never would have traded Derosa if he had anticipated Aram going down for this length of time. Also, reacquiring a player with a contract like Derosa wouldn't require Zell's approval. The fact that Crane even slightly acknowledged it was a mistake makes me think they might swallow their pride. That along with a couple other unfounded suspicions make me think there's a chance.
  6. I'm starting to wonder if Derosa might actually be coming back. Between Crane Kenney's radio interview today, Jake Fox sitting and Hafner's shoulder injury there might be enough to speculate that Jake+ brings him back.
  7. For a brief moment or two Lilly's ERA fell below 3.
  8. Sori swing at a slider off the plate? Impossible.
  9. Am I the only one who is starting to pay more attention to what the Nationals are doing rather than the Brewers/Cardinals?
  10. I'm not really surprised the Cubs are getting shutout so far; I'm much more surprised they were able to score 4 runs yesterday. Brutal, absolutely brutal.
  11. Good lord Ascanio looks filthy right now.
  12. Looking over some numbers to further depress myself and I noticed that not one Cub player is on pace to have more than 76 RBIs. Soriano leads the team with 27 through 58 games. When was the last time a team didn't have anyone with more than 76 RBIs and didn't trade away a player to achieve that?
  13. Harden with the best at bat of the inning. That's unbelievably depressing.
  14. Nothing surprising there; a runner got in scoring position so it was time to play like a bunch of little leaguers.
  15. At least that's something to be excited about.
  16. Of course, two more inches and he can't get to it.
  17. Sori with a risp, I'm sure this is going to end well.
  18. When's the last time the Cubs gave up 4 runs in a three game series and lost the series?
  19. Lou would have to care in order for him to get mad.
