  1. Strosnider to the Brewers, god they're good at talent evaluation.
  2. Swing and miss is an issue but he does everything else very well
  3. Like it quite a lot, they went after a guy who slipped and so worth it
  4. Dodgers take Bo Lawrance, they always just take the talent that slides to them and make out like bandits
  5. Thome to the WSox was about the worst kept secret in the draft
  6. He should go for slot more or less you'd think. I doubt he's over and I doubt there's little if any savings.
  7. Going through all the expenses with clients and I find it shocking how many parents are dumping 5k, 10k and more on their kid's sports activities annually. It's not even wealthy households either. I see people dropping 5-10% of their household income on their kid's sports.
  8. and I was just starting to think that not every single pitcher in this entire organization would hit the IL this year.
  9. Rogers with a 36.4 GB% and 6.49 K/9 probably does not bode well for him. I'm completely baffled how a guy with such a low GB%, extremely low K% and still has a 2.1 HR/FB% over the last month or so worth of starts.
  10. Taking the viewpoint of, as far as I'm concerned everyone else can get horsefeathered, as long as I enjoy myself is not an exactly enlightened way to watch baseball.
  11. I think Casey Mize is my arm of choice. I don't see the Cubs in on Gray because of the 2027 mutual option with a $10M buyout. Mize is a rental which means they wouldn't have to completely decimate the farm. He almost assuredly wouldn't cost you Shaw, Mo or even Ramirez, but could it get done with one of Kepley/Alcantara/Ayers as the lead piece? Not really excited by the thoughts of giving up any of Hartshorn/Conrad/Wiggins/Rojas for a rental unless it's a completely dominant rental.
  12. Had no idea Cease was absolutely killing it this year and the results actually match the peripherals. I don't suppose the Blue Jays would like to unload that contract on the Cubs.
  13. Callis said Bell might go top 5 as an under slot deal.
  14. The White Sox hype in the media insane too. You'd think the Cubs weren't even competitive this year, let alone had a better record in a better league.
  15. A very long way to go, but that PCA vs Baez deal has the makings of one that could go down as one of the most lopsided trades of the last few decades.
  16. Not necessarily for this year, but I'd love to grab Andrew Painter from the Phillies. He is hard struggling over there and I'd love to rehab him in the Cub pitch lab.
  17. I mean, yeah he started super slow not hitting his first HR until April 22nd, but since that game he has posted a .254/.397/.455 SLG which is good for a 140 wRC+, a stretch that covers his last 305 PAs. I'm quite OK with that.
  18. Man, there really just isn't anyone I'm particularly in love with that's likely to be around at #23. They've all got fairly big warts and/or the upside just doesn't seem to be worth it. Of the names linked to the Cubs, I think I like Bo Lowrance's bat best, but seeing as that he's destined to be 1B only, that's a whole lot of pressure to put on the bat. I guess Sawyer Strosnider is going to be my guy and just hope they can fix the chasing issues, because he does pretty much everything else well.
  19. Am I reading this wrong? 4 year extension for $273 million over those 4 years? What in the horsefeathers? https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/49294892/agent-donovan-mitchell-reaches-new-4-year-deal-cavs
