  1. Even if Waters,Wright and Anderson were somehow offered, they wont be, I'd still be disappointed that Fried wasn't involved.
  2. There are reports claiming the Reds are the favorites to land Akiyama. This pretty much guarantees my complete lack of interest in the Cubs next season.
  3. That sure seems like a lot of aav for a soso innings eater in Keuchel
  4. Another cheap starter option off the board.
  5. The point of trading KB is not to make the team better in 2020, it's to make them better later. They clearly don't want to give him a huge contract so you either move him for pieces in/close to the majors with an eye on making the team better in 2021+ or you let him play on a mediocre team and hope the Cubs somehow sneak into the playoffs before he walks away for a draft pick. I simply don't believe this 2020 squad is worth taking that kind of gamble on given the monetary and player asset related constraints.
  6. That list doesn't make any sense at all. There is an enormous gulf between some of those guy's value. Toro is not in the same league as the rest. By the way, Toro-Hernandez is the name of one guy.
  7. Actually makes the Dbacks rotation pretty solid. Bumgarner, Ray,Weaver,Gallen,Kelly isn't spectacular but it should be fairly good. Still think they need a bat. Maybe Seth Beer if he mashes spring training.
  8. Well that's about as ridiculously big a swing as possible. Thanks refs.
  9. I think you're underestimating Clase who is really good, but yes it's a bad return.
  10. Safe to say they're out on KB, not that the could have put together a particularly good package anyway.
  11. If you could get Robles, its likely that not much more than a lottery ticket comes back with him. Even on the high side I can't imagine much more than Seth Romero.
  12. In the sense that everyone behind Robles is going to be dramatically worse, you kinda have to look at it as a 1-1. Robles is more interesting than most names that seem to come up for Bryant, but it's like the 90's White Sox entertaining a Frank Thomas for Mike Cameron trade I'd say most hitters are closer to what they'll be at 22 tbh than not. Robles is one of those that seems more likely than most to improve some at the ML level, but he'll probably never hit like Bryant, Rizzo, or Baez. I think Robles has AS potential overall btw Of course he wont hit like Rizzo or Bryant. If he had that offensive potential to go with his defense, at a premium position, and speed he would be completely untouchable. It's unrealistic to think you can trade Bryant for a younger, cheaper and longer controlled Bryant.
  13. I dont see why Darvish would have to use Bryant to free up money. I think he might bring value back himself.
  14. Hey Theo, we want your young former MVP, but we don't want to give up anything you'd actually want. Do we have a deal?
  15. Seriously, if the Cubs can't spend even 5M on a need then it's time to just reboot this thing, but they wont and in doing so will continue to allow their asset's value to dwindle.
  16. No thanks. He's not as good as Rendon and reaches FA older than Rendon did.
  17. Sitting back and doing nothing is the absolute worst option possible. All you get is a mediocre team with assets decreasing in value.
  18. A .162 IsoSLG out of a 20 YO up the middle defender with speed and patience who also hit for average in the Southern League was really really good. League average was .123...Nico Hoerner put up a .115 IsoSLG in the same league over fewer PAs by comparison OTOH: I just noticed Pache's IsoSLG was almost .200 in that league! Still like Waters' overall bat more in the long run but get Pache now as a power/speed/defense guy above AA Sadly Pache's speed is wasted because he has no idea how to utilize it on the bases.
  19. Really not pleased about Lindblom. If they have any interest in competing in 2020 and have serious financial restraints then this was the move to make.
  20. Why? He’s only controlled for 2 more years and never cracked 1 WAR. He’s a bad defender, doesn’t have a ton of power or walk or hit for average. Not that it matters now, but he's only 24 and I think there's more there with the bat. With that said, Eloy and Mazara OF, that's going to be fun.
  21. Would really like to snag Mazara if he can be had pretty cheap.
  22. A lost less risk in trading for Bryant. You don't have the years of control, but you also don't spend near as much money and are getting prime years without fear of sudden age related decline.
  23. Just for fun, some packages I'd like to see which focus on 2021+ PHI: Haseley,Bohm,Howard LAD: May+Downs WSH: Kieboom,Rutledge,Romero ATL: Fried, Wright/Wilson
  24. This would at least be interesting as a type of challenge trade. Turner at 2B putting up a .350 wOBA and above average defense is about a 4.5 win player(or basically Ozzie Albies), and he fixes some current roster holes. And with Kieboom about ready you could at least squint and see the justification for it from Washington's perspective. i would think they'd be much more inclined to give up Kieboom Yeah, the Nats are all in after that Stras signing. They aren't going to trade a major mlb piece to add Bryant. I wonder if Robles is available, because outside Robles and Kieboom I dont have a ton of interest. Maybe Rutledge, but Crow,Garcia and Denaburg don't do much. If Romero could get his attitude fixed I'd love to have him as a tertiary piece.
  25. Always a good idea to cry poor, deal your best players and march out a marginal team in the year you're launching your new network.
