  1. I think this is the first draft where I don't have a guy. There's like 5 different picks I'd be cool with and, unless something crazy happens, none of the guys I really like will be there.
  2. About to be 8.5 games out of the division and he'll do something stupid like keep everyone because he thinks they're still competitive.
  3. Watch the Cobs get no hit to put a cherry on this dumpster fire of a season
  4. Checking the box score from work and it appears it's the Brewers vs the Bellinger and some other guys.
  5. I am almost never ok with taking a 1B in the 1st unless he absolutely rakes and even then it doesn't usually turn out very well. I'd be pretty intensely disappointed by this.
  6. I still hate that Mervis was sent down with all the underlying stats trending in the right direction even if the results weren't there yet.
  7. I don't know that I've ever seen this and perhaps it's a one season statistical anomaly, but Jordan Walker is putting up a .287/.350/.439 line at the moment good for a 120 wRC+ and yet the defensive value is so terrible he's still at a -.4 fWAR through 180 PA, so roughly on pace for -1.2 fWAR over a 162 game span. That puts him right around as valuable as Trey Mancini on a game per game basis based solely on fWAR.
  8. I'd like to go with Stroman to Baltimore. The dream of getting Westburg is probably dead now that he's in the majors, but there's other nice options. If they're looking for the best prospect they can get regardless of proximity to the majors that is probably Samuel Basallo who is putting up a .294/.365/.486 line in A ball as an 18 year old. He's 1B/C right now, but probably more likely 1B in the future. If you're looking a bit closer to the majors then Heston Kjersted is probably the guy. He's a former 1st round pick putting up a .291/.386/.558 line in AAA, and before that a .310/.383/.576 line in AA.
  9. Since they have apparently no interest in extending Stroman, he needs to be gone and should fetch a pretty good return, maybe a back end of the top 100 guy. Bellinger, Merryweather and Hendricks probably wont bring a particularly interesting piece individually, but packaged, they might bring a nice piece or two to slot into the top 15 of the farm.
  10. Nearly half a foot outside, but called strike 3. Inept umpires as usual.
