  1. I don't have metrics to back it up, but my eye test tells me Davis has been awful.
  2. Unless they're signing one in FA, drafting a C is basically a must and what I'd like to use a 3rd on.
  3. Perhaps I've missed it, but one guy I've heard linked to absolutely no one so far has been Blake Snell, which is surprising given he was arguably the 2nd best FA pitcher on the market who can actually pitch in 2024.
  4. We're getting to a sample size, where it's really hard to refute this is a better team with Lavine not on it, but I just can't imagine them actually benching him even if him playing makes them worse.
  5. There were no positives to take from the offensive performance. Yeah, Fields probably had a 100 yards of drops and 2 INTs that weren't his fault, but he still didn't do enough to sustain any drives and is it just me or did he completely ignore the middle of the field inside of 15 yards? No slants or short crossing routes that I recall. The Oline had their worst game since early this year, the WR/RB/FB blocking was awful, like awful awful. The running game was the equivalent of taking a knee and yet Getsy decided over and over that he would try a pitch or a sweep that would inevitably end up in a 3 or 4 yard loss. Putting them in 2nd and 10+situations more or less dooming the drive.
  6. I say this as a person who drafted him as my fantasy QB, but as a passer, he has looked very average this year and considering he has a WR duo arguably as good as the Tyreek Hill/Jaylen Waddle combo and he has one of the best Olines in the league, his season has been a huge disappointment. Then again, a lot of the usual big names have been pretty bad by their standards they've set. This is the worst season I remember Mahomes having and Allen, Herbert, Burrow and Lawrence are all having/had down years as well.
  7. Jalen Hurts has been really mediocre this year. 19TD to 12 INT a year after he went 22TD to 6 INT.
  8. I'm honestly kind of terrified to take Caleb Williams, perhaps irrationally so, seeing what a worse version of him in Bryce Young is doing. I'd be ok with Maye, but Maye might be a guy who throws 25 TD and 20 INT in his first season and I can see Chicago going into mass panic with that.
  9. Yeah, he's been checked out for a while now.
  10. Cutting off routes(which he did yesterday) and not coming back to the ball(which he also did yesterday) are things he's done repeatedly this year. It's like he's running a distraction route and he's surprised when the ball actually comes his way.
  11. You're missing the point. The point isn't about what we've missed, the point is that, with each FA off the board, those teams who didn't win the bid will pivot to other players potentially putting more competition on the guys the Cubs want.
  12. Because going into yesterday he'd been playing better and more consistently over his last 6 or 7 starts and I was slightly leaning towards keeping him. Yesterday, he was completely taken out of the game and good defense or not, that wasn't acceptable. So yeah, right now I'm pretty firmly in the QB with pick 1 camp.
  13. Frankly if Fields doesn't put up a big game this week, then you go into the draft with no hesitations.
  14. The problem is this. Right now the Cubs do not have much room for error on landing who they need to land. If they wait until January that margin for error is even smaller. With each free agent that comes off the board, their job becomes harder and harder. Even if the Cubs weren't targeting that particular free agent, that's one less target for other teams who were targeting that free agent and now they potentially pivot to a target the Cubs are in on. So yes, things could still work out alright, but with each passing day with each free agent agreement it becomes less and less likely
  15. I said earlier this year that he was a solid #2, but I'm not sure I believe that anymore. He doesn't win his match-ups enough, doesn't win 50/50 balls, makes really poor efforts on blocking and just is on a completely different page than Fields. Just last year people were wondering if it was going to take 17-18M annually to retain him, now he probably gets a one year prove it deal for 5 or 6M from some non contender.
  16. NE looks more competent with Zappe at QB, not much, but he's better than Mac Jones.
  17. No team is giving Mooney more than a 1 year deal. The guy just doesn't ever win the 50/50 balls and is incredibly lazy on the blocks.
  18. Laff, Mooney blows the game winner. Please go away.
  19. and Scott makes up for all of it
  20. 374 passing yards for the corpse of Flacco.
  21. I expect a quick sack here to put us out of our misery.
  22. Poles is safe. Eberflus, Getsy and Fields gone. You can't have your defense collapse in epic fashion 3 times in one season.
  23. 3rd and 15. Bears defense implodes yet again.
