  1. I don't know if I've ever seen a trade involve this many people before
  2. Waiting to see the foot drop on what prospect the Cardinals gave up to the WSox
  3. Flaherty just got scratched from his start.
  4. Dodgers also got Kopech along with Edman
  5. White Sox get Miguel Vargas from the Dodgers, what they get from the Cardinals still to come.
  6. Definitely. They'd only have to push him back one day.
  7. Rumors had it the WSox really wanted Walker from the Cardinals, we'll see I guess.
  8. A Taillon replacement in FA/Trade would be much easier to pull off than a Nico replacement. Plus I get the feeling that Nico is one of those guys who doesn't get properly valued in trades seeing as the majority of his value comes from defense/baserunning. I don't think a Nico deal is impossible, but you'd have to get pretty creative.
  9. For about 10 more hours
  10. Though the adjustments haven't born fruit just yet, he's clearly making adjustments. For a while there he was literally starting almost every single AB 0-2. Up through June vs July BB% 4.2 vs 5.3 K% 28.5 vs 17.5 wRC+ 47 vs 80 Babip .280 vs .214 ISO .085 vs .204
  11. I mean he has straight up said he's only making moves that improve the club for 2025+ so I can't imagine him making any moves that don't involve either current MLB players or guys who are just about MLB ready unless they just get blown away with a package that is too good to say no to.
  12. It has crossed my mind more than once that Tom is just trolling us all and having chat gpt come up with these things he posts.
  13. Fun thought. The White Sox currently have 54 games left. They would have to win every single one to reach .500 this year.
  14. The Cubs are in a really fascinating place right now. Let's assume that Cody opts in, which is likely at this point and they don't move Taillon. They're going to have something like 40M available in FA. As of right now your 2025 Lineup probably looks like this C-Amaya 1B- Busch 2B-Nico SS-Dansby 3B- Parades RF- Bellinger CF-PCA LF- Happ DH- Seiya Improved, absolutely but still lacking at least 1 bat. The most obvious thing to do would be move Bellinger to center, PCA to Iowa and find a Rfer. As far as the rotation goes, you could completely justify not spending a cent on it. Steele/Shota/Taillon/Assad/Wicks/Brown/Wesneski and eventually Horton is really solid and has good depth. Even with Bigge traded and Neris likely gone, would the pen need more than 1 arm in FA, if any? Merryweather/Adbert/Leiter/Little/Hodge/Miller are all legitimate arms and you may have Pearson too. Basically, how are they going to spend this nearly 40M? I know it's not going to happen, but this is about as perfectly set up as they could be to add a guy like Soto. RF/C are really the only 2 must spend positions as things stand and C could very easily be solved through a trade.
  15. 14 in a row now, for the 2nd time this year, and their .250 WP is just barely hanging onto 40 win pace.
  16. From what I've read it's kind of the opposite. The asking prices are very high because of all the buyers, but they're high to the point people are wavering about pulling the trigger.
  17. Orioles definitely wouldn't move Bradish especially since they're already almost definitely going to lose Burnes. At that point their rotation would be Grayson Rodriguez/Eflin/Taillon and a lot of question marks in 2025.
  18. I'd say this opens up RF, with Seiya going to DH. There's a lot of RF available in FA.
  19. This is pretty much what I said earlier. Even if you build in regression because of Wrigley, you're still looking at a guy who is probably a top 10 3B. If the truth is somewhere in between then you've got a borderline all-star.
  20. This is the one trade I'd basically be OK with them just giving him away. His money could be better spent on a bat first RF next year.
  21. This as well to my above post. It's not like if they aren't homeruns they're just outs.
  22. The expected homerun stuff is misleading too because it assumes he's playing every game at Wrigley.
  23. The only reason I consider moving Nico is because the Cubs need bats bad and don't have a lot of positions to add one if Bellinger is coming back. If you can add a more offensive oriented 2B then I'm game.
  24. I lack the skills to express how much I would hate that.
