  1. Even if we took away the mega bonus pedigree and the several years of struggles, you're still looking at a kid in his 20 year old season who by reports is a solid defender at SS, who just got done putting up a 133 wRC+ at A ball and, albeit in a sample, is torching A+ with a 163 wRC+. He has a slightly above average BB%, a slightly better than average K% and has stolen 38 bags in 43 attempts this year. He's also graded to have 50 FV power potential. The season ends today I have him in the back half of the top ten with Shaw/Horton/Alcantra/Ballesteros/Caissie/Rojas and Smith ahead of him and Triantos/Wiggins fighting with him for 8/9/10.
  2. Not that I think the Cubs are particularly good, but man the Arizona series coming out of the break and that recent Cleveland series are the 2 I come back to that really put this team in dire straits as far as any realistic chance of making a push goes. As bad as this season has been, they're realistically only about 2 or 3 reversed outcomes from being very much in contention for the WC.
  3. There's a good chance we end up really regretting that trade. The peripherals are very good for a rookie. He has mid rotation arm written all over him.
  4. Since his trade to the Cubs 6 2/3 IP 4H 1R 0ER 13K 1BB 17.55 K/9 1.35 BB/9 .06 FIP, yes that's not a typo
  5. The man can't even review pizza properly, his scouting opinion means less than nothing.
  6. Pretty safe to say we don't see Caleb in the last preseason game?
  7. Christian Hernandez at 28 is just crazy to me. If he finishes the year strong I might even put him in the top 10.
  8. PCA sitting at a .616 OPS. If he can somehow get it up to like .650 by year's end, I'd consider that a very successful rookie year.
  9. I'll update it as games finish but week 2 for the 1st round QB rookies 1. Caleb Williams- 6/13 75 yards, 1 Rush 7 yards 1 TD, 1 sack 64.6 RTG 2. Jayden Daniels- 10/12 78 Yards, 2 rush 13 yards, 93.8 RTG 3. Drake Maye- 6/11 47 Yards, 4 Rushes 15 yards 1 TD, 1 sack 1 fumble 65.4 RTG 8. Michael Penix- DNP 10. JJ McCarthy- Done for Season 12. Bo Nix-
  10. From what I read he got picked on his first throw then after that was good. Apparently the Bear's D picked Burrow 3 times and Jaylon completely shut Tee Higgins down.
  11. Might be time to shut Wicks down and get him right over the off season.
  12. The usual it's early caveat, but Drake Maye doing an awful lot of checking down in his first 2 games. I wonder if the game just feels fast for him and he's just trying to get the ball out asap.
  13. Well then I guess let's hope the bat is what they apparently believe it is.
  14. It makes the decision to give him full slot even more strange to me. I thought there was a chance he might be an slight under slot even when we thought he was healthy, but now that he's done for 2024 and probably only DHs for most of 2025, I have to assume they didn't know or that they're super ridiculously high on his bat.
  15. Yes, what MLB needs is more injured pitchers. Every team is going to have to roster like 7 starters with another 2 or 3 ready to go in AAA.
  16. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/40864100/struggling-white-sox-drop-season-ticket-prices-2025 White Sox are reducing Season ticket prices starting next year. I wonder how close we are to going back to when you'd get a free White Sox ticket for purchasing a value meal, though I can't remember exactly which chain it was. I think this was back in the mid to early 90s.
  17. Happ is solid. On a competitive team he's a guy who should probably be your 4th best hitter. On a really good offense maybe your 5th best hitter.
  18. Albeit a very small sample size, Neely has been a monster with the Cub organization so far. 4 2/3IP 4H 1R 0ER 8K 1BB That's a 15.43 K/9, 1.93 BB/9, 0 ERA, .74 FIP, 1.07 WHIP and this is all happening while his babip is .400.
  19. 500M is a damn bargain at this point. It's crazy how good he is with the bat. Despite providing huge negative value with the glove and negative value on the bases, He's still going to be somewhere are 37 career fWAR in his age 25 season.
  20. 30M a year for 6 years sounds completely reasonable again.
  21. I've never watched any episode of Hard Knocks because #1, I wouldn't get any enjoyment out of seeing guys dreams dying on camera and #2, knowing more about athletes as people usually seems to not go very well as far as me liking them more.
  22. Well this is pretty much the nail in the coffin for any realistic chance of making a playoff push.
  23. That Seiya stat backed up how I feel every time he's up with less than 2 outs and a man on third.
