  1. Seeing as the season is more or less over, we might as well start tracking this. As of right now the Bears would hold the #11, #37 and #43 picks in the first two rounds. Unlikely to win any tie breakers going forward, even losing out would find them unlikely to pick any higher than 7th or 8th. I stated in last week's game thread that I have the priorities as follows EDGE>OT>DL>Safety>Oline depth If they end up with a pick around #8, at least one of Kelvin Banks, Will Campbell, Mason Graham or Abdul Carter is likely to be there. Banks or Campbell would give them that left tackle anchor which would allow them to push Jones inside and strengthen the overall line. Graham's position isn't as much of a need ass EDGE/OT but he'd be a BPA pick. He would pair incredibly well with Dexter and also help to strengthen a DL that is weak against the run. Carter would take the pressure off Sweat who seems to be about the only edge rusher who can get to the QB on any kind of regular basis. In an ideal world they go EDGE with the first pick because I think it's much easier to address OL/DL with their #37 and #43 picks then it would be EDGE
  2. You're ready for the Bench to be Thaiss, Canario, Mastrobouni and Vazquez? I'm not sure that bench could OPS .600.
  3. Thanks to there being an absurd amount of terrible teams this year, despite being 4-8 the Bears would still only pick 11th as of this moment. They're also basically going to lose any tie because they have the highest SoS.
  4. That's now how it works in baseball. In baseball the cap hit is the average annual value of the contract.
  5. The man hasn't pitched above 78.2 innings since 2019, I don't care the reasons, It's being absurdly optimistic to just think he's suddenly going to be a guy who is going to give you starter innings. If we get 100 innings out of him in either year, we should be thrilled.
  6. Not sure how you can call giving 30M to a guy who is probably only going to see about 150 innings in his Cub tenure as a good signing.
  7. If they sign Flaherty as well they're going to have almost nothing to address the bullpen and bench.
  8. Frankly I'd be real surprised if another SP came via FA unless Jed is just going to completely ignore the bench/pen.
  9. And replace them with who? Who is this great GM who is going to join an organization where they can't even pick their own coach? I'm actually scared Poles is going to end up leaving.
  10. It's like Jed can't help himself when it comes to trying to prove he's the smartest guy in the room.
  11. No GM worth anything is going to touch this franchise if they can't make their own decisions.
  12. For that amount of money he'd better be elite of the elite if he's a pen arm.
  13. That's crazy optimistic on offense and defense
  14. in 2025, a slight offensive upgrade for a massive defensive downgrade, not sure i see the point.
  15. It's a damn shame Illinois lost that Minnesota game earlier this year. They win that and they're probably ranked in the 14-17 range.
  16. I've seen various former NFL QBs say this same thing. He was running an offense like Caleb was a seasoned veteran which is probably why Caleb was hesitating so much under his system.
  17. No idea why Eberflus would have ever been given a 5 year deal
  18. I don't think it's going to be the players complaining, I think it's going to be all the "low revenue" teams complaining that it gives the big spending teams even more ability to outspend them. Now we know this is horsefeathers because those teams are choosing not to spend, but I fully expect it be a point of contention.
  19. The deferrals are 100% going to be a big topic during the collective bargaining agreement.
  20. For me these are the biggest needs. Edge>OT>run stopping DL>safety>OL depth
  21. Brown has definitely made himself a desirable OC this offseason, but I am not even considering him for HC unless Caleb is emphatically telling them this is the guy who can make me the best I can be.
  22. He referred to that in his press conference, but made it sound like at the very end of the game he doesn't have that option.
  23. What's crazy is that he started the year 0TD 4INT. Going 15 TD to 1 INT since is absurd, especially as a rookie.
