  1. Three more years of Aaron Craft flops.
  2. 2013 is a long ways off. Tommy Hamilton still isn't talking to anyone else. Parker will go to the ACC if he doesnt end up at Illinois. We'll be fine.
  3. Jesus Christ just what we need another soft ass big man Dude, Bielfeldt is a junkyard dog. I kind of like this offer to be honest with you. He's a big time legacy and from Peoria, plus 2012 in Illinois blows so I don't think we are missing out on much. Yes Purdue fans, that even includes the great Jay Simpson. If there's a transfer or exit from the team after this season you go after Steve Taylor.
  4. I think at this point he's a pretty solid Mizzou lean. For a while he was rumored to be seriously considering SE Missouri St, where his dad played and where a buddy or two was playing. But since he's really blown up in the last year it's come down to Mizzou and Georgetown. He said in an interview recently that he was leaning Mizzou between those two, so there's a much better feeling about him than say, McLemore. Porter can't come a moment too soon, because Mizzou's especially thin up front with Mitchell not qualifying, Green redshirting, and Underwood transferring. Thanks, I was wondering if there was an academic issue or not given the late stage we're getting to.
  5. Mizzou fans: what's the deal with Otto Porter. I saw that he was selected for the Jordan Brand All-American game, but have not heard a peep about him out of any of you. What's the deal with his recruitment?
  6. I'm sure that DePaul didn't really have a strong shot of getting him, but damn you for stealing him away from DePaul. We need him a lot more than you! I was looking at some recruiting stuff last night and DePaul has a bunch of offers out to top players. Stephens had ties to Purdue and Weber so I think it was always going to be one of the two. Is DePaul ever going to get an arena on campus? Have you ever been to Lincoln Park? Not happening unless they want to buy about 100 multi million dollar properties, have them rezoned, and have a bunch of millionaires agree to it. Maybe something by the Kennedy between North and Fullerton, but not technically on campus. To me the solution is getting them into the city ala St. Johns. I'm not sure how favorable their lease is at Allstate, but I think playing at the UC would help that program immensely.
  7. Nice to see us not lose out on the son of a former Boiler. He's a good kid. His HS coach is awful though.
  8. I figured this would be the case. Disappointing to say the least.
  9. Let's examine candidates from all schools before declaring a victor. I submit to you, the representative from the University of Iowa, Jacob Jaacks. Aaron Craft is shaping up to be a headliner on that list. I'm sure I will curse his name in the same fashion that Illini fans cursed Kramer's. Yeah, I totally agree with that. Craft is going to be a pain in the ass. Wisconsin's got a lot of annoying white guys, but I'll throw Mike Kelley's name in the ring for lack of a consistent Wisconsin poster.
  10. Let's examine candidates from all schools before declaring a victor. I submit to you, the representative from the University of Iowa, Jacob Jaacks. This has the potential to be fun.
  11. We had Lucas Johnson. I'm pretty sure we win the award for dirtiest and most annoying white guy in the history of the conference.
  12. I wish Harris would have actually landed that elbow on him. He did, but it wasn't nearly enough to knock him back 17 feet. Kramer sure as hell sold that one. At least he's gone. Now he can go back to the cave he crawled out of and continue beating women with his club.
  13. Unless you're Chris Kramer and you are given the freedom to maul the ball handler on the perimeter.
  14. That's so depressing to look at.
  15. 1. Illinois is going through an academic scandal, and half our administration is currently being replaced. With that type of organizational turnover the powers that be have asked Guenther to say around. 2. Guenther has pretty much unbridled power over the Athletic Department. His opinion is the only one that matters. When you are a great fundraiser like he is, and you have the support of Manny Jackson and Jerry Colangelo that's pretty much all that matters. 3. Yes, it pisses me off to no end that Weber's job appears perfectly safe. I like Zook, the program is far better than when he got to Illinois, and I think they have finally have finally surrounded him with people for the program to be successful.
  16. Its all about the seniors with PU. I'm not sold on the talent behind them. I think that people hate on Purdue for that reason, they've had a very good run, but its all been on the backs of one class.
  17. Are you talking about Jay Simpson? What makes him a two star prospect in your book and why does Rivals have him rated as 4 stars? Also, is Raphael Davis a sub 4 star prospect in your eyes too? Plus, Purdue has made the last two Sweet Sixteens (lost to champion Duke and Final Four team UCONN). Purdue has won at least a game in the tourney the last four years. Illinois hasn't won a game in the tourney since 2006. No one argued Purdue isn't a better program right now. They clearly are.
  18. Because he played at Purdue. Are you serious with this? I also wouldn't want him. He runs the same type of system that makes me want to poke my eyes out with a stick and soon will be going through what we are as his recruiting has sucked. Painter will have just as many 4 star players on the floor next year as he has this year... actually, depending on if you rate Lawson a 3 (Rivals) or a 4 (ESPN), he may have more next year. Anthony Johnson is a redshirt and obviously they get your favorite player Hummel back (if he doesn't blow out his knee again). I still like your talent next year better, but its not like Painter is [expletive] the bed. IU gets recruits just because they're IU and they've taken guys away from Painter, obviously. But it's not like he's throwing scrubs out there. I hate to burst your bubble, but Anthony Johnson kinda sucks. He couldn't even get tick in high school.
  19. Oh and as far as national prestige goes, a Wisconsin alum asked me if we still have a basketball team on Friday. That's right, we've fallen below the Badgers, a team that failed to make the tournament for 50 years.
  20. Your expectations are out of whack. Wright/Dixon would only leave their respective schools for a UNC/Duke/Kansas type of job. How's Sean Miller down in Arizona? Perhaps he's had enough of Pac 10 land and wants to come back to the Midwest. Grant is another name I'd consider. I'd also look for long tenured assistants at major programs, perhaps a Chris Collins.
  21. McCamey's been having the worst game of his career every game for the past 2 months Worse than 1-10 with 4 assists and 3 turnovers? I doubt it. Every loose ball was going to Purdue too. You must have missed the OSU game.
  22. I agree. People are concerned about Jerrance though. To me its totally off base, you can't let fear of losing an assistant hold the program up. Ideally, Jerrance stays at Illinois with the new regime, if not you hire someone you know can get it done on the recruiting trail. I at the very least would like to see some staff changes. We have to shake it up.
  23. I don't know why you think Weber will be fired no matter what the end of the season record is. Just as he is stupidly loyal to his seniors, Guenther is stupidly loyal to Zook and Weber. Best case is Guenther makes him hire new assistants. I would hope that Weber might resign but he would be giving up too much money. I never said he'll be fired no matter what, in fact I think the chances of him getting fired at the end of this season are less than 10%. However, results don't lie.
  24. Don't worry. We'll find a way to suck too
  25. I'm to the point where I want us to lose. Anything to speed up Weber's exit.
