  1. Jereme Richmond released a statement yesterday. He's not transferring. We can all go on with our lives now.
  2. c'mon, the green bay way is to rape an underage girl in a hot tub at a high school party. *allegedly
  3. It's an indictment on the Green Bay organization and fan base. It's a well known fact that Soldier Field's playing surface is garbage. Like I said earlier in the other thread, both teams have to play on it so I don't think GB will be at a disadvantage. I just found it interesting that the NFL is looking into it.
  4. Oh, hooray. The NFL is monitoring the field condition at Soldier Field and will have the final say in what is done with it. Glad they have recognized what a problem the atrocious playing surface poses. Sorry to post the JS again, but it just popped up. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/113932249.html
  5. Proud Packer fan, proud Cub fan, proud Illini.
  6. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/113879804.html StubHub, a major ticket reseller that tracks the price of tickets around the country, reported Monday morning that, over the past 24 hours, the average price for a game ticket is $766. Illinois buyers outnumber Wisconsin buyers by a 3:1 margin. I guess there are a good deal of Packer fans who do not value their safety.
  7. Locker room fodder. Thank you. From a guy who hasn't played all year. Who cares, his opinion is worthless.
  8. The answer to your real question is no. Packer receivers will not have the kind of traction they had in Atlanta. Haha, I'm aware. Both teams have to play on it so I don't think it will be too much of a competitive disadvantage. Soldier Field and Heinz Field should both just give up and put down field turf.
  9. I hope the re-sod the field. Soldier Field's playing surface is an embarrassment.
  10. It's the same argument over and over with Bruce. Losing sucks, but there's no way Guenther fires him. He's got the talent now, and if he doesn't adapt within the next two years then he's gone. Until then the jury is still out. This team is what it is. Soft. If they don't hit shots, they don't win. Its that simple. I'm in no way ready to give up on the season, and think we will make the tournament easily.
  11. I hope the Packers keep their mouths shut this week.
  12. How many years does this season buy Lovie?
  13. How so? Are you from Wisconsin? So if you say you're a Packers fan, you can all of a sudden just switch allegiances whenever you want? I didn't think it worked that way. I don't know why it's such a big deal that there are Packer fans who are also Cub fans. It was split pretty evenly between Packer and Bear fans when I was growing up. I honestly don't know what to make of you guys. But I admit there are...several...of you out there :) When you're rooting for the Cubs most people around you are actually hostile to your football fandom. And when you're rooting for the Pack, most of your fellow Packer fans hate your baseball fandom. It just would feel very, very weird to me. It's really not too bad. I moved around a lot as a kid, but like I said I was exposed to the Cubs at an early age. So I always liked the Cubs. When we finally settled in Chicago the Bears were awful, and none of my classmates really cared. 2001 was the year when everything changed and people started being hostile towards me during football seasons. I've grown used to it, and now it really doesn't phase me.
  14. Are you mad at them or yourself? I was actually born in Green Bay. the closest hospital to green bay is in oshkosh so you are obviously lying. unless you were born in a house, which is common practice in wisco. Bellin Hospital. 1986. Lived about a mile and a half from Lambeau and would go with my dad to practice. Best day as a kid was getting Reggie White's autograph at camp.
  15. I think its time to safely start thinking about next week. As always against the Bears, GB needs to neutralize Hester and our receivers need to be careful when running with the ball after catch. Hester is such a powerful weapon that if the game comes down to field position GB will be put in a tough spot. This is going to be fun, and gut wrenching at the same time.
  16. I ask myself why I'm a Cubs fan all the time. The idiot in me won that round. I picked up the Cubs from my afterschool babysitter, she always had WGN on when I came home from school. No one gave a crap about the Brewers when they were in the AL pre Miller Park days.
  17. Are you mad at them or yourself? I was actually born in Green Bay.
  18. There's the nail in the coffin. I don't think the Bears will get enough national credit for this win, but they really came out focused and impressed me. Looking forward to next week, and hoping that I'll be able to go home and see my friends without hanging my head in shame in the next month.
  19. The Seahawks are who we thought they were. Congrats on the win.
  20. The prospect of the Cards not resigning Pujols is almost on par with LeBron leaving Cleveland. St. Louis will explode. Mozeliak said that the Cards have been told by Pujol's agent that a deal needed to be in place by ST yesterday. It'll be interesting to see how much they can afford to offer with Holliday making 17M per year. Carpenter is only under club control until 2012 and Wainwright has two club options for 2012 and 2013. Both those guys will be looking for raises as well. Attendance and fan support will never be a problem in St. Louis, but either way the Cardinals will be looking at a significant boost to keep their core in tact over the next few years. I think Pujols is worth between 25-30 million a year, and isn't looking to settle for less, but ultimately I think they'll get a deal done for him and end up losing Carpenter or Wainwright as a result.
  21. We'll see. I seem to remember the Bears doing exactly that 2 weeks ago with everything on the line for GB and nothing for Chicago, a week after GB scored 40+ points against another team with everything on the line. I think that Chicago's D is not a great matchup for the Packers offense. The Packers led by Rodgers have scored more than 21 points in a game against the Bears only once, way back in 2008 when they scored 27. That was also the only time Rodgers has had a QB rating over 100 against the Bears. Don't get me wrong, he hasn't had one stinker against the Bears (almost all his game ratings have been in the 80s or low 90s) but compared to what he does against other teams, the Bears have held him and the Packers offense in check. Even last year when our defense was terrible. If the Bears and Packers play next week, I think it will be a game where the winning team scores in the low 20s and the losing team scorers in the high teens. Lets get to that point first though. You're spot on, but if GB can come out like it did last night there isn't a team left besides the Patriots that I think is capable of beating them. I certainly do not expect GB to roll through a potential Bears matchup the way they did Atlanta. Hester scares the crap out of me, and it seems the Bears are very good at avoiding the big plays against GB. Thus, it will be important for the offense to move the ball in smaller chunks, and go on prolonged drives in much the same way they did in the first half last night. Cutler at this point is an unproven playoff commodity and I'm interested to see how he plays today.
  22. This is going to sound cocky, but at this point it doesn't matter who the Packers play as long as they maintain the same or substantially similar level of play. Barring horrible weather, I don't think there's much of a chance of slowing Rodger's and Co. down.
  23. I agree. I want the Bears. Show up like today and we're Super Bowl bound.
  24. What a performance. My game ball goes to Tramon Williams.
