  1. have you actually been watching this game? Actually, no. Haha. Been listening while mowing. Just watched the last 2 innings. lots of loud contact finding gloves at least one good scoring opportunity destroyed by a screaming line drive for a double play with two guys on Yeah, the only abhorrent inning that can be truly pinned on the Cubs is when the side struck out with a man on third.
  2. Should have at least three runs today.
  3. I was stupid back then, but nowadays I'm trying to temper game thread venting with more reasonable posts. I apologize if I get off balance at times. was this always your name? if it was then i was thinking of skyballer i guess This has always been my name on NSBB, yes.
  4. In hindsight, that was a hilariously fun, long game.

  6. I'm more interested in giving him support if it improves his performance. Otherwise, this is major league baseball. No one should get any more rope than necessary. It's not like we're obligated to start Castro because he has a hypothetical Ryan Howard contract.
  7. just make contact. Choke up and hit the ball. It's not that hard.
  8. Unbelievable. Is May normally a big strikeout pitcher?
  9. Maddon is right, naturally. Still doesn't make Castro's performance any less frustrating.
  10. A 1-1 tie in the 5th inning? Goodness gracious. Insofar as being screwed on hard contact, I mean. ;p
  11. This is bad even for Cubs standards.
  12. Cubs have been punished for making solid contact today.
  13. Come on, Bryant. You're better than that.
  14. And thus the Cubs' seasonal yoyoing between four and seven games above five hundred commences.
  15. Do better tomorrow. Tonight was unfortunate.
  16. I wish we could just go on a tear sometime this season. We have the roster to do it.
  17. Well, it's baseball. We swept the Mets and lost 4 out of 6 to the Brewers. And the Twins have had a ton of RISP luck, as I recall.
  18. Meanwhile, the Cardinals are beating up on a team they should beat.
  19. Our offense and pitching is nowhere near consistent enough to make us a top three team. Plus, we're still fielding a squad of youngsters who are still going through growing pains. Presently, there's way too much variance with our club - watching the Cubs play is like watching Soriano bat.
  20. I'm gonna check out of this one for a bit.
  21. Rant rant rant. Woe is us, etc. The Cubs just aren't allowed to have easy games, 17-0 blowouts aside.
  22. Just noticed that Hughes only threw 7 pitches. Yeah, that's pretty vomit-worthy. I wonder if the offense gets overanxiouss against pitchers they know they can hit.
