  1. Look for Lee and A-Ram to fly out to the warning track in the 9th.
  2. D-ward has been useless off the bench this year. :x
  3. Naturally, a stiff like Romero would do the damage. Not you're fault, Rich. Hard to win when the offense can't hit a 77 year old pitcher.
  4. I could have bolded everything you wrote. I didn't realize Soto and Ankiel were playing the same position. As far as the rest of that pile of crap you posted: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Oh and for good measure: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  5. Then you obviously saw a pathetic Padres team make errors, not run the bases with any brains, blow 5 run leads and then when they actually do something right, they hit liners right to Pujols. Yup, pixie dust was a flyin this weekend.
  6. The Yankees have proven time and again that its not 'names' that win, or have a right to win. Good ballplayers playing as a team with the drive to do their best at every moment is a powerful winning combination. The pixey dust and luck references just sounds like someone doesnt understand the game very well. GMAB!T The Padres HANDED the Cardinals three straight wins in the 4 game set. That has NOTHING to do with them being a good team. Never mind. The Padres handed it to them. I must have missed that part. You must have missed the last 3 games at the very least. They'll be coming to Wrigley soon enough to get their asses handed to them and to let them know exactly where they stand in this divsion.

  8. You're right! They will be sitting home come playoff time: IE not going anywhere.
  9. All you can do is laugh and just realize that come September, these frauds will be dust in the wind.
  10. Two ropes right at them. It's called Cardinals pixie dust, nothing more.
  11. Someone, anyone, reverse pixie dust?
  12. Giles now singles, 1st and 3rd, one out.
  13. Well, the Cubs are just going to have to beat these guys by themselves. Never send a boy (Padres and Giants) to do a Mans job. One of them will lose starting this week when they play each other and then we'll take care of business ourselves. However, I would not be surprised if both teams won the game when they played each other.
  14. That's pretty harsh. He's got a .500 SLG this year.. He hasn't homered in over 3 weeks.
  15. You can't be talking about the Lee from 03-05 with his 99 home runs in that 3 year stretch can you? How about the present D-Lee?
  16. Lee is what he is. Pretty good fielder, singles/double hitter and DP/K machine.
  17. What, Tejeda didn't stick his bat out and bloop a single or double?
  18. Anyone know what happened to D-Lee's power? We have a singles hitter batting 3rd right now.
  19. Two terrible pitchers making the Cubs look bad the last 2 nights. This is the part of the season where if ti can go wrong, it will. Houston getting a bunch of bloop hits that plate runs, while the Cubs hit balls right at them.
  20. Fixed. However, I still say we win this series and get on a roll.
  21. Then you have a guy like Theriot who gets more flack then any other Cubs player and all he has done is hit and get on base all year. If Theriot has a couple of bad games he is blistered on this board. However, Fukudome, who isn't even a homegrown Cubs player, gets extended passes.
  22. Walks in the left column, K's right column. April: 18-18 May: 16-15 June: 17-22 July: 3-15
  23. IMO, the stat below is the most telling one. Walks by month: April: 18 May: 16 June: 17 July: THREE He is not seeing the ball well. He is not walking because he can't hit and work the count when he has two strikes on him anymore. Back in April and early May he would foul off 5-6 pitches per AB with two strikes and either end up walking or hitting a single. He is swinging at a lot more first and second pitches now because he has no confidence when he falls behind in the count.
  24. He's hitting .233 since June 1st, which is awful but not .115 awful. He's hitting a blistering .167 in July with 1 HR, 2RBI and ONE DOUBLE, which is what he is getting paid very well to do.
  25. The 1st month pitchers had no idea how to work him. Now that they have discovered where the holes are in his swing, they are exposing them. He has looked EVERY BIT as bad as Jacque used to when he whiffed. He's spinning around and missing the ball by about a foot. Not only that, his lack of any kind of gap/doubles power is past the point of alarming. He just doesn't drive the ball. If he gets a hit lately, it's a seeing eye single or a slap hit to left. I am not giving up on the guy but I think it's safe to say the honeymoon is over and if the spiral continues, do not be surprised to start hearing a few boo birds at Wrigley.
