  1. I think it might be time for Reed Johnson to get some at bats and let Fukodome get his head back on straight. Maybe the rest of the Astros series? He looks really, REALLY bad right now. This isn't a slump for 2 weeks, this is a slump for 2 months.
  2. Pathetic performance tonight coming out of the break. No excuse for getting one run off a terrible pitcher. Really, just pathetic.
  3. Lee hasn't gone yard in three weeks.
  4. He hasn't been good in over 2 months.
  5. Bad offensive night and couple that Lilly's troubling HR given up total, this was bound to happen.
  6. Uggla= worst performance ever for an All-Star. Easily the Goat of the game.
  7. Uggla looking for a hole to put his head into.
  8. Who's you're Daddy, AL? Z and Demp, that's who! :amen:
  9. This has all the makings of another NL loss. Please do not let it be Demp, as the stories of how a Cubs player blew the game when the the Cubs are dominant at home would be too much.
  10. Fontenot is Spicoli :rotfl: http://www.bordertownonline.com/images/spicoli.jpg http://www.rotowire.com/images/headshots/mlb/430917.jpg
  11. Is Fukudome looking silly while whiffing just: Fukudome being Fukudome?
  12. More advice on how to stay safe at the game. Seriosuly, most of us know this. Lets just keep praying that Dominick gets to go home soon. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-stadium-safetyjul15,0,3453939.story
  13. I'm very serious. Ted Lilly has not impressed me very much. Yes, he has 9 wins but the guy is a junk balling lefty who has given up an alarming number of homers. Seriously, why stop here? Given Hardens injury history, another starter would not hurt. His name is Rich Hill. :pig: Umm, no thanks. You would trust Hill in a playoff game? Yikes!

  15. Even though we are at the break, there are only 67 games left on the schedule. The Cubs are on pace for 97 wins and all in all, I couldn't be too much happier with the way things have gone. When you consider all of the injuries they have suffered the last month and a half, a 4.5 and 5 game lead over the Cardinals and Brewers is just fine. The Cardinals have had tough injuries as well, so everything kind of evens out and this lead is about what we should have expected. With 67 games to go, what are your needs/wants for the Cubs? IMO, they should get one more starter and or relief pitcher. If we can get Burnett without paying too much for him, I'd love to see him as the 4th starter, with Lilly moving to the 5 hole. Brian Fuentes also is a guy I hope Hendry can swing a deal for. I'm very comfortable with the starting offense but I expected more from D-Ward, who has not swung the bat very well off the bench. If Hendry can land a veteran lefty bat to bolster the bench, that's all I can really see that we need. As of now, I think this team is hands down the best team in the NL. However, if Hendry can add another starter or bullpen arm, it certainly can't hurt.
  16. Cubs win two of three Brewers lose two of three Cardinals win two of three 4-2 homestand Cardinals went 3-3 on their trip and lost a game in a standings. Brewers went a scorching 4-3 against the Rockies and Reds and sit 5 back. Cubs _ _ Cardinals 4.5 Brewers 5 Next?
  17. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-baseball-boy-hurt_webjul12,0,5241006.story I saw this on TV when it happened and although they never showed the boy, you could see the crowd looking towards the area where Lilly hit the foul ball. Cubs fans and all Baseball fans please say a prayer for this kid. As the father of two young children, I can't begin to imagine what his family is going through.
  18. Haha! The Brewers lose and their outstanding pen blows another game. Back to third place again.
  19. If he hustled he'd be hitting well over .500 in close and late situations instead of hitting a measly .419. The gall of A-Ram!
  20. You're something else. Do you REALLY think he talking about Wuertz and Lieber? Seriosly, go back to WSI where you belong. On behalf of those of us who have him on ignore; put him on ignore or stop quoting him. :) Just waiting for him to get banned.
