For the benefit of the new members (or continuing members who don't remember the details), the information about exemptions and minor league eligibility are in the rules thread (as Juan mentioned a few posts up). Information about exemptions is under Major League Rosters, item D (Keeper Roster) and information about minor league roster eligibility is under Minor League Rosters, item B (eligibility).
What is the cost of the league? Can I pay by paypal? If not, email me the address to send the money, rmaglente@yahoo.com The cost is $10 per year. The address (posted in the "2010 Site Ready" thread) is: Juan Sorensen 2590 Farmers Central Road Woodland, California 95776 I don't believe he has PayPal (he hasn't mentioned it as a payment option in the past), but he can confirm that for you.
This Super Bowl is the most-watched TV show in history, surpassing the series finale of M*A*S*H. This is based on the number of people watching, not the percentage of televisions tuned to the game, so it may be a bit misleading since there are more televisions now than back then.
My recollection is that he'd have to be on your major league roster for now (since he's lost minor league eligibility in the past), but that you could move him back to your minor league roster when the season begins if he's sent down to start the season in real baseball. I'm not positive, though.
He's the first who was known mainly as a Saint (perhaps that's what you meant). Players Doug Atkins, Earl Campbell, and Jim Taylor, coach Hank Stram, and GM Jim Finks are Hall of Famers that spent time with the Saints but were better known with other teams.
The 2010 class has been announced. Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith, John Randle, Russ Grimm, Rickey Jackson, Dick LeBeau, and Floyd Little. Richard Dent is robbed once again.
I've had one thought on a possible replacement. I don't know if she feels like she can take on another league, but karenmac, who posts some in the minor league forum (she's president of the Peoria Chiefs booster club and I met her and her husband a couple of years ago when the Cubs were playing in Toronto ) is in a fantasy baseball league of mine (the one you were in several years ago, Brian, before you got frustrated by Gregg's antics) and is also in a couple fantasy football leagues I'm in (including one that's mainly NSBB members).
They've never been available online through cubs.com, but they have been available for mail order by calling VineLine. They're also sometimes available through eBay. They're usually not available until Spring Training games begin; I think they're shipped to HoHoKam Park before they're available for general distribution.
The site doesn't seem as user-friendly as it was last year. I remember last year we were able to mark our keepers and the rest of the players were released automatically, instead of having to release them one at a time. Also, it doesn't seem to be set up yet to allow us to execute our draft pick trades.
Ball State 64, Bowling Green 59. BSU has a 4-game winning streak and 6 of the last 7 games and are up to 6-3 in the MAC and 12-9 overall. Definitely an improvement over where they were a few years ago after the Ronny Thompson disaster.
