  1. That would have been a good trade for the Mets. Hernandez is clutch in the postseason. What has Kris Benson ever won? Perhaps.....ANNA? He LOST Anna.
  2. TROLL! You'll get Neifi and like it. I'd add Bynum as well. :D
  3. He'll be traded to Baltimore for Corey. :D

    WEEK 8

Seems like one rookie manager is destined for a terrible start each year. Last year was my first in the league, and I started 0-13.
  5. Just like in Survival Football, I may be destined to finish just behind you.
  6. Damn you, Edgar Renteria. I'm one game away for tying the longest streak in the league, and you go hitless and ruin it.
  7. This is completely, 100% unacceptable. There's no excuse for Dusty continuing as manager now, let alone getting an extension. He has to go now.
  8. Hopefully you'll be over your eye problems soon and seeing the ball as well as the last couple of years. Is it easier mentally to deal with a slump when you know there's a physical reason as opposed to having no idea why you're slumping? Does it make you feel more confident that you're hitting will be back to normal once the eye problems are resolved?
  9. I'm now within one of you. My streak was on hold for a day when my player was rested Saturday, but it was extended to 10 today.
  10. Guzman, no. Ryu, yes, but he went to the pen when he went back to Iowa. I think you have it backwards. Guzman went down before Ryu, therefore he'd be eligible to come back up earlier.
  11. Absolutely not on Rusch. He's already proven he's an automatic loss as a starter. They'll need to bring somebody up for the start. It can't be Guzman or Ryu, because they haven't been down the required ten days yet. My guess would be Williams (not that he gives me much confidence). I'd like to see Marmol get a shot, though. At least he hasn't proven that he isn't ready for the majors yet.
  12. I'm sure there would be; I'm just saying that's not a legitimate reason for keeping Dusty. Hendry just needs to realize a change must be made and let others say what they want.
  13. But not when the likely outcome is going to be losing a player the Cubs absolutely cannot afford to lose for several games. I'm a Barrett fan, but the cost of his actions to an already decimated team is high enough he simply HAD to turn the other cheek and keep himself from getting suspended.
  14. No, Z better NOT do that. After today's incident, undoubtedly warnings will be issued in advance to both teams before the game even begins. If Z hits him, he's ejected immediately and possibly suspended. That's the last thing the Cubs need now.
  15. Jackson can say all he wants. here's no chance that Hendry is keeping Baker for that reason. He's keeping Baker because he's either too blind or too stubborn to realize Dusty is a horrible manager.
  16. No he didn't. If he gets suspended, what he did is give an opportunity to play in the majors to one of our current minor league catchers. A team can't play with only one active catcher, so a roster move would have to be made to bring up a catcher. Presumably that catcher would get some of the starts. My guess would be Theriot would go back down and an Iowa catcher would come up.
  17. Sorry, Slugger, Ron beat you to it this time. You're slacking off; twice in a row somebody beat you to it. [-X
  18. Third base had been a black hole ever since Santo retired, except for a couple of short stretches (Madlock, Cey). We finally have a good third baseman. We need to keep him unless we can get an equally talented 3B back in a trade; we don't need to go back to the revolving door policy.
  19. Fixt.
  20. Up to 9 now, tied for second longest streak of the year in our league. By the end of this weekend Rocket Sauce will no longer have sole possession of first place.
  21. He adds chemistry and speed. What else could one ask for? What? You say you could ask for actual talent? Come on, you can't have everything.
  22. I'm moving up the leaderboard quickly. My current streak is 8 games, which is the longest current streak in the league and just three games away from catching Rocket Sauce's 11 game streak, which is the longest of the year. And to think I used the same player for the last 7 games of my current streak.
  23. Whoa, come on now. A bad manager, yes. A rotten human being, no. He's supposed to be a leader of men, yet his actions show him to be in reality a spineless, doubletalking twit. Dusty is pathetic. He's pathetic as a manager, not as a person. That was my (and others') point.
  24. It will be interesting to see if he's disciplined by the NFL (e.g. fine, suspension).
  25. Whoa, come on now. A bad manager, yes. A rotten human being, no.
