  1. True, but his established record should give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. There's more reason to think Wilkins will be successful than to think he won't.
  2. And Neifi has a whopping .149 BA and .184 OBP. He's slugging .255.
  3. Nobody, Premium or "lowly regular user" has access to the search function; it's been disabled for quite some time because of concerns that it was contributing to some of the board outages.
  4. I really [expletive] hate this [expletive] BS. Someone disagrees with me?? They must be a stupid kool aid swilling Trib subscriber who doesn't care where the team's going. God forbid they want to keep one of the best players on the team, whose contract may not even be that unreasonable in the new market. And the Cubs have won their dvision 3 times in the last 23 years, 4 playoff appearances in that time, but you were probably too busy drinking in the bleachers and peeing on yourself stupid wannabe Cub fan!!!! OK, that's way out of line, clearly a personal attack. Knock it off. Cause the context was really hard to see as I responded to his calling everyone who disagreed with him a koolaid swilling fan content with lucking into the postseason. Did you even read the rest of what I wrote? Yes, but it doesn't matter what the context is. Calling somebody stupid is personal.

  6. So far it looks like your fears may be valid. Bonderman has given up 2 runs and has -5.75 points in the first inning. Me likey. :D Upon further review, it turns out that I'm the one who made the boneheaded pitching decision to cost me a win. Jennings in my lineup with 2 points; Marshall on my bench with 25 points. That 23 point difference looks like it will decide the matchup. I'm sure the other East managers love me and the other West managers hate me. :D
  7. I didn't call you any names. I think it's obvious that I didn't score points because Kennedy didn't show up in my line-up. I did make the move, Kennedy was in my line-up and I didn't score his points. So rather then causing a mess, I dropped Kennedy picked up Garmano and took his start. I ended up w/ 9 pts rather then the 27 pts I should have received. Meh, I swear I switched out Dan Johnson for Conor Jackson before the week started. But I must not have saved the change because it didn't register. So I lived with the consequences. I'd love to have those additional 13 points right now. I don't know if this is what happened in either case, but if someone switches players but forgets to click on the "set lineup" button I don't think the changes get processed.
  8. Just shows up as a red x for me.
  9. So far it looks like your fears may be valid. Bonderman has given up 2 runs and has -5.75 points in the first inning. Me likey. :D
  10. And Rowand is a FA after this season...the trade makes no sense. In other words, a typical Hendry move.
  11. I agree Riggleman is out of place on this list. I think he was actually one of the Cubs' better managers (at least of recent vintage).
  12. We can talk about Pie getting called back up. Oh, wait; we already are. :D
  13. I always thought that was Cindy Sandberg. Maybe Cindy IS Sunny's wife now. After all, we do know she's divorced from Ryne.
  14. He'd hinted in his pregame comments the previous day that he might intentionally get kicked out of a game. He just saw that call as his opportunity. What I think is bull is the idea that a player can physically assault a teammate without getting suspended, but a manager can't kick dirt on an umpire.
  15. Many deserving candidates, but ultimately it starts with the Trib, since they kept MacPhail for so long, who in turn kept Hendry, who in turn hired Dusty, etc. Accountability starts at the top.
  16. Why do you say that? Colvin's holding his own in Daytona after skipping Peoria. He still wouldn't be expected to jump three levels by next year. So if he is in the Cubs outfield next year that would be out of desperation.
  17. He's already under contract for this year and the next, isn't he? He's under the Cubs' control for next year (arbitration eligible) but not under contract since he exercised his opt-out clause a couple of years ago to become arbitration-eligible.
  18. I actually put in a waiver claim for a different newly-minted closer, but someone with a higher waiver priority also claimed him.
  19. Pie did not play for Iowa tonight. This may lend support to the rumor about him being called up tomorrow.
  20. I think whether Pie is in the lineup or not for Iowa tonight will be a clue. I doubt he plays tonight if he's being called up.
  21. You forgot "don't worry, be happy" We don't need to add another lefty if we dump Eyre,We have plenty of righties that can stink out there. Don't worry, be happy.
  22. But I got five more stupid points from Cordero anyway for four pitches. :DSeven more "stupid points" from "stupid Wickman" today, thanks to the Cubs' imcompetence.
  23. i think we should just blame it all on CT :)Yep; his changing his screen name to include Zambrano's number is what caused it. :D
  24. What they have to lose is a shot at the #1 draft pick next year. Without Bad Ohman up here to forfeit games the Cubs may win too many.
  25. Um, yes, I think he is. :D
