This is my 4th year in the league, and I've always been under the impression that you couldn't replace a player midweek just because he's sucking. My understanding, which is apparently wrong, was that you could replace a player (other than starting pitchers) in your lineup only if he's injured and reported to likely miss some time or if you make a trade during the week. On a related issue, K-Rod is expected to be out at least until the weekend (although he's not on the DL). So I picked up Scott Shields as a free agent (and dropped Lowe) since I didn't have any relief pitchers on my reserve list that I could swap in. So officially Shields replaces Lowe, even though he's really replacing K-Rod. Hopefully my 45-point lead and one pitching start advantage is enough to make up for only having one relief pitcher playing for at least the next few days.
