I don't think that's right. It's not, Murton already burned an option year by getting sent down after spring training. That's what I thought. Once you burn an option year by getting sent down, you can go back and forth from the majors to the minors as much as the team wants, as I recall. That's right. The only stipulation is that, once a player is sent down, he can't be called back up for at least 10 days (unless it's to replace an injured player). Each year someone is sent down is one option, not each time within a year. -

Getting back on the actual topic, I remember him from the 70s (I started following the Cubs in 1969). He was the Cubs' top relief pitcher for a couple of years in the mid-70s.

I like that too. I've been able to watch a few HD telecasts with Len & Bob instead of the Pirates' or Phillies' broadcasters. Anymore I actually prefer games being on Comcast rather than WGN since DirecTV doesn't carry WGN-HD.

Maybe it does hurt that bad, but that they don't expect it to last long enough to need to put him on the DL. In the minors there's a 7-day DL, but in the majors it's 15 days.

It's all good though because Tim Buckley is replacing him as the resident former BSU coach that is now an assistant at IU. Now they just need one in football since Lynch is no longer an assistant. I wonder what Paul Schudel is up to these days. -

Dallas Green did say that after Sandberg was established as a star. He said it was Sandberg they really wanted, but they publicized it as though Bowa was the main target so Sandberg wouldn't feel pressure. -
