  1. yea, I mean justin fields was also thought about as being a pocket passer .... but he ALSO had amazing physical traits: https://thedraftnetwork.com/2021-nfl-draft-scouting-report-qb-justin-fields/ Kyle, I feel like you want to be right about something no one else was right about. I think it would give you a sense of accomplishment, a feeling of mental superiority. That's cool I guess...you be you as they say....but also accept that you really don't know much
  2. Yeah, I'm sure you did your due diligence to actually look. https://dawindycity.com/2023/01/27/chicago-bears-news-draft-expert-fields-better-young/ https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bears/espn-analyst-doesnt-understand-bears-justin-fields-trade-talks https://clutchpoints.com/bears-news-micah-parsons-fires-back-at-justin-fields-bryce-young-debate why let effort and research get in the way of a good red herring
  3. Jones would be playing in the USFL in very short order if he hits FA demanding $45 mil
  4. Except that if you are in Pole's shoes and you miss on the (not) Fields draft pick, you'll likely never work in the NFL again if you miss by keeping JF, you'll likely get a second chance. This is an example of a conflict of interest that does exist in the sports world. I think it's implied most of us are discussing the d desirability of moves relative to the Bears perspective and not Poles' personally Except it's Poles making that decision, and not the Bears perspective, as you say it

  6. sunk fallacy based on what? What do you know about any of the college QBs that scream start over? I was watching some "best of" videos on FB because 1) I'm old and 2) horsefeathers the offseason and something stood out on me. Fields holds the ball, but when he does, hes good for at least 15 yards. Its like he does it on purpose. trade down bitches It's a sunk cost fallacy because it's privileging the person you already have as the default scenario. I know this is something some people struggle with, but you can come to the right conclusion with an invalid argument. "None of the college QBs impress me enough to want them more than fields" is a valid argument. "You have to be 100% certain to trade fields" is not this is crazy. what College prospect available this year is better than Fields? and I mean Fields as a college prospect 2 years ago or Fields as he is now? none of them are better than JF in either comparison.
  7. If you are trading Fields you'd better be 100% certain that Fields is not the guy and that the guy you draft is the guy. You are basically staking your career to that decision. I like GMs that aren't afraid to take some risks but that is way too much of a gamble based on what we've seen from Fields so far. This feels like some variant of sunk cost fallacy. You should make whichever decision you believe is best, neither deserves "you better be certain to not pick me" status. sunk fallacy based on what? 8. I don't care he's fetishing about as long as he gives a kings ransom to the Bears for the #1
  9. Beautiful raw. If we ended up with Carter and Schmitz I'd be happy as a pig in horsefeathers
  10. Look guys, rich guy wins again!!! Surprise!!!! Jk, buddy, happy for you
  11. Comon Blackhawks, channel your inner Bears Tank tank tank tank
  12. And Canada, but in general I agree with you
  13. Just kidding lol I did have the thought that Virginia died from that tweet. But the McKenna thing came up on my apple newsfeed yesterday as weird as that is. Never heard of him either
  14. probably, but also McKenna died yesterday i had to look up who the hell this was. a minority owner? RIP to that guy and all but nobody cares lol. He was my uncle
  15. probably, but also McKenna died yesterday
  16. Why enlarge all the bases? To boost offensive runs by shortening the path to run by 4.5"? Does it have any measurable affect?
  17. that'll be an interesting working relationship given Russells strained relationship with Pete Carroll. To be fair, Payton will be much more "throw first" which is reportedly what Russell likes, but I also think Russell doesnt like having a strong bossPayton is on record that Parcells is his mentor, and he still talks to him all the time. In retrospect, it’s part of why the Saints fell apart. Payton controlled everything, from meals to hotels to uniforms, flights, everything. He’s THAT guy. Strong disagree that Payton is “throw first”. Outside of the three middling 7-9 seasons several years ago, he is a run first, play action, strong defense guy. His best teams always had a two or three RB rotation. Brees just made it seem like he was pass happy. but will he be more throw first than Carroll? Thats all I was suggesting, and Pete wants to run the ball 50 times a game. but you would know him better than me, for sure
  18. Is Payton's personality at all like Parcells'? I believe he coached under Bill when he was the Dallas HC, I wonder if he has any of the "dictator" type personality that Parcells had (use your own best work to describe him, that's the first thing that came to mind) 100% yes. that'll be an interesting working relationship given Russells strained relationship with Pete Carroll. To be fair, Payton will be much more "throw first" which is reportedly what Russell likes, but I also think Russell doesnt like having a strong boss
  19. Obviously Anderson is a terrific prospect, but it's also supposed a deep DE class, with plenty of early round talent. No saying how Poles will grade Anderson or Carter next to the other DL who will be available. But yea, if they stay at 1 or 2 to ensure their top choice, I won't be upset. I'd love to pickup that extra 2024 FRP, but theres no guarantee such opportunities will even present themselves. Yeah, I think I'm the opposite of UK. I think Anderson is the better prospect of the 2, but I almost prefer Carter based on how good this DE class is. Like just completely get a dominant potential interior w/ Payne and Carter. DE, you can hit in the 2nd (or 1st pick of the 3rd) and I like quite a few players there. Might not get a true stud, but if you do everything else right, you can go into 2024 and get a top edge rusher then and the guy you pick this year is a solid starter or depth. Plus, they should be adding a DE in free agency as well. Yea, 2006 Bears did it with Tommie and a bunch of good/decent ends, no true super hero

I'd be pretty upset if they stay at #1 If they stay at 1 I'd assume it's because they didn't get any decent trade offers
  21. nvm...my own insomnia is kicking in. its going around, must be tax season
  22. Who TF was positing that he became the guy yesterday? Greg Gabriel?
