  1. I know DJ Moore is a good pick up, but man...all the 1sts!
  2. I *still" cant tell what percentage of the fan base is memeing and what percent thinks he's actually good. 5 % memeing. I don't think the full remaining 95% think he's like good good. Definitely some variance. But prob like 12-23% think he's next Urlacher or something. I felt like Sanborn's relative success (he tackled some people) showed more how the LB position can have only a limited effect on success if it isnt approached correctly. The approach to the two new guys is definitely interesting, however
  3. this is a BS account sharing random made up crap for engagement they might have a great analytics department but this guy sure as hell doesn't know but they did photoshop Cutty on the monitor, so its really a win-win
  4. Theoretically, that gets balanced out by the running teams being better at killing clock to hold onto leads at the end of the game. I dont really buy that. For it to be true, one would have to assume that the run-heavy team either has the ball at the end of the game and is slowly picking up 1st downs or has a commanding lead of which the other team makes a comeback, but falls short due to clock management. But how often does a run-heavy team build large leads? I don't really know, but my anecdotal view is not often, and the bigger element of the overall outcome is the run-heavy teams' defensive play. IE; how well can they stop the high-flying offense? I think it is better to have a strong D and a strong, dynamic passing offense.
  5. So you would definitely take the under on a 6.5 win season right now? I sense an opportunity to win an internet bet here. For what little it's worth in football with the sample sizes involved, they played more like a 5 win team than a 3 win team last year based on pythag. The eye test would seem to agree with some of the games they blew or had a chance to win late. They are already going to be markedly improved in some areas - and weaker in none of significance - as compared to last year and the draft should bolster the roster some more too. I have no idea where it's going to end up at this point and obviously the next couple of months will determine a lot. Oh, also, the Packers are going to be very bad and the Vikings are not actually good so who knows. Detroit looks much better, however
  6. How many 1 score games did they lose in 2022? I'd agree wit gooney that a multi year nfl rebuild is foolish. Losing starts to set in as the culture and becomes expected. But I also feel that the moves they've made should flip the script on those one score loses
  7. Not a ton of yards tear to year, but in 2021 (or 2020) he had 11 tds, I'd agree
  8. it sounds like it. I really like that PFF seems to think that he improved as the season went on, hopefully we got him on a career upswing
  9. boy, I hope they have some plan. so far its been....confusing
  10. I don't even know who Mark Pennel is and I watched every game last year lol I only remember him because of a bad pf he committed...and I remember at that time thinking he played for the opposing team when they said his name on the broadcast
  11. whitehair isn't our center because we had no other adequate option for LG, that's the reason. I think they drafted mustipher hoping to develop him and two staffs gave SM extended time to prove them wrong, and low and behold, he did prove them wrong. he sucks mustipher was undrafted, but yeah iirc whitehair was generally good at C but i think nagy swapped him and daniels following 2018 because of the shotgun snap issues I forgot about those
  12. whitehair isn't our center because we had no other adequate option for LG, that's the reason. I think they drafted mustipher hoping to develop him and two staffs gave SM extended time to prove them wrong, and low and behold, he did prove them wrong. he sucks Funny, I thought the reason was he can't snap and block at the same time whitehair wasn't a bad center when he played there, but its harder to find a decent LG than it is center.

  14. yea, it was an incredibly tragic event but also I'm not convinced in any way Carter's fault. They were kids out being dumb kids his pro-day was concerning however
  15. We said this last offseason at the same point, then be went DB-DB-KR early in the draft. The way he has absolutely torched the lines on both sides of the ball is concerning He kind of did the same horsefeathers in FA, has a horsefeathers of money to spend, there's fairly good OL and DL options available and what does he do? LB-LB right out of the gate, where are the linemen going to come from, out of thin air, Amazon Prime? Alibaba
  16. I don't see Skoronski as a fit. Short arms, and I think he's a guard, which seemingly is covered by Davis, Jenkins, Whitehair, and Carter all being on the roster still. Jenkins could move back to OT, but he doesn't have ideal length either. I hope they add someone. Even if it's just a placeholder on a 1-year deal. Cam Fleming seems like the safest bet out there. But Taylor Lewan and Donovan Smith are interesting options in that they were once really good LTs until injuries and age set in (Smith isn't quite 30 yet but has a lot a mileage). Maybe you can get a Jason Peters season out of 1 of them, which is possible since they are 10 years younger. LOL. But those type of moves wouldn't force you into OT at 9. And I personally, think I'd rather have one of the 2nd round guys (Jaelyn Duncan, Matthew Bergeron, Wanya Morris-3rd/4th) than Johnson at 9. Trade back, and I feel more comfortable with one of the 1st tier guys. Anton Harrison is my guy, OT2 for me with Paris only ahead because of star upside and Darnell Wright is my OT3, who showed at the combine he's athletic enough for this scheme and college showed an amazing anchor against top tier talent. idk about Paris Johnson, he grades higher in run blocking than pass blocking. I wouldnt draft him above Skoronski. Broderick Jones and Anton Harrison (btw, Anton is one of my all-time fav underutilized names - it was my great great grandfather's name, and if we had a boy I would have named my son that name) both ran sub 5 sec 40's. If you want arm length, pass grades, and speed, those are the two to focus on
  17. I know nothing about this guy, what's to like?
  18. i probably would too, but word is he tanked his pro day today BADLY. looked really out of shape. Really? Damn
  19. I really suspect we're going to go DL with the 9th pick and I will be a floor boner about it. My best guess is that they will go Edge if Wilson or Murphy are available. If they aren't they trade down a few slots (would be very helpful if Levis is still around) and take one of the tackles. If Carter is at 9, I'd take him. DE is deep and you could prolly get some value in rd 2 But poles very clearly is making his own path so who knows
  20. This is why I'm not sold on Herbert. He can run, but he can't block and I think the jury is still out on his receiving abilities
  21. I don’t know why it would feel like that, but luxuries are enjoyable when you possess them. If you have a QB and some WR talent, an elite RB can be a great topping to the skill position group for a nice 5 year stretch. Yea, I look at the Rams team when they had gazelles at WR and Faulk. I realize it was a very different offensive scheme, but they were nearly impossible to defend and Faulk was a big component
  22. Running the ball in todays nfl is a lot different than the old school 3yrds and a cloud of dust. That being said, how many elite pass graded OL actually hit the market? I'd bet not many, and that's why we are signing the guys we are signing. Eventually Poles is going to have to draft someone who is. That very well may be at #9
  23. When he was with Baltimore, his 1st 2 seasons he was a pro bowler at RT which could mask his lack of agility better than at LT. He was one of the best at RT which suits his strengths better than LT. Outdated thinking. Wirfs, Lane Johnson, Sewell, and Ramczyk are top 10 overall OTs and play right side. Guys like Watt, Nick Bosa, Reddick rush exclusively from the left side of the D. This is a fair point, you want your best on their best, regardless of sides. I also disagree with Kyle's idea of muscle memory, not because it doesn't exist, but because it's not something an athlete can't overcome. For years RT was thought of being maulers not fleet-footed ballerinas. So, for decades RT was a position that was thought to be more of a power blocker. But if teams are storming the right side, a mauler won't do: you need the ballerina. It used to be the opposite because left tackle protected the QBs blind side as most QBs are right handed- hence h the QB won't see it coming. The thinking now is pressure is pressure and the weaker side has been the RT side, so put your best pass rusher on that side.
