  1. I think your crazy. you left Seattle after all.
  2. given the Bears inability to draft no-brainers in the first, I'm glad to give up 2 of them for a quality QB like Cutler Orton was decent, Cutler makes us contenders
  3. btw, the Score in mpls is saying we also signed Pace wowowowowowowowowowowowoowwoowow whatta day!!!
  4. the only April Fools here better be McDaniel and Co.
  5. ahhhhhhh! comon Jerry!!!
  6. They are nice backups or fine plugging in with 2 or 3 other solid lineman. But they aren't core lineman. if they are unknowns, how do you know this? I dont buy the Omiyale hype. I do think Shaffer is a solid RT. I dont know if any of them could be pro-bowlers, but I think combined, they make an interesting composition. to blow them all off as if Angelo was on a drug-induced lineman buying streak is idiotic.
  7. signing him would certainly point at WR in the 1st
  8. who is this REALGM guy? how much water does he hold?
  9. Perhaps, they've been interested all along and now it's public. I can't see why Angelo wasn't all over this, after the season did he not babble on about the need for a QB? He did, but then he changed his tune. I still think he's been interested in Cutler since the story started. The lack of public, "we're in love with him" proclamations means nothing. according to the article, it would have been tampering if the Bears were public about their interest. I have no idea how the Jets get away with it here then
  10. I don't understand this line. Wouldn't Orton go to the Broncos in any trade for Cutler? If he goes to Denver he starts this season and at least half of next season. At that point he could have established himself as a marketable FA- something he'd never be able to do in the Bears scheme. yea, my only thought is that Orton has always been in Chigao and feels like he's earned the right to stay here and has no desire to be part of a rebuilding situation in Denver. Orton would likely be the starter here or there.... not that we arent in our own rebuildign situation..
  11. He's always been regarded as one of the best pure prospects in the country, even coming out of high school. He's highly athletic, a true speed threat and always has been. The biggest knock I've heard against Harvin is that he's too much like Hester. I'd prefer a more physical compliment to Hester too, but it would definitely strain defenses more to have to worry about both Hester and Harvin. We'd have two true deep threats. Harvin would immediately mean the Bears become an offense that can stretch the field, without any question. I think we could do worse. He might not even fall to us. biggest dif between Harvin and Hester is this: HArvin has always been a WR, Hester has been everything .... and then a WR Harvin is much more polished, besides we have 2 TE's who can be physical downfield
  12. the front office has been scouting WR's pretty hardcore lately accordign to the suntimes and trib
  13. I see Harvin as a Steve Smith I'd take him
  14. so now the Bears appearantly are intersested in Cutler http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/huddleup/2009/03/denver-broncos-quarterback-jay-cutler-reportedly-on-bears-radar.html
  15. Omiyale actually backed up Shafer in Atlanta now it looks like their roles have reversed life is fun.
  16. as far as I know, the only knock on Britt is that he is coming out of Rutgers he reminds me of Andre Johnson
  17. ok. I see that line of reason, but if I'm Angelo, I make it publically known that I'm going after Cutler, who grew up a Bears fan, hoping he takes notice and forces a trade. what I see the Jets doing right now is what I want to see Angelo do and EVERYTHING might be lowballing Denver when it comes to the drought the Bears have had at QB
  18. I'm pissed with Angelo right now. If I'm him, I throw EVERYTHING at Denver to get Cutler I dont get whats so hard?
  19. Steve Fuller anyone?
  20. since Ron Turner probably isnt doing the formal and/or funcion of drafting, I dont think we need to worry about it So the GM is going to ignore how his coaches coach when making decisions? Is he also going to ignore the Bears are primarily a cover-2 team that emphasizes speed over size? Angelo doesn't draft guys that don't fit what they need and can use. He might draft guys that ultimately suck, but they fit profiles. 1. Turner coaches offense, so I'm not sure why he would want cover-2 guys 2. my post was simply a joke inferring Turner wont actually complete the act of the draft, ie, he probably wont be the one submitting the actual pick to the NFL on draft day
  21. since Ron Turner probably isnt doing the formal and/or funcion of drafting, I dont think we need to worry about it
  22. see, I thought I read that series of posts correctly, and I did.
  23. Wildcat formation on a regular basis creative? I don't think so. It took him a year and a half to figure out how to throw to Olsen. The Bears are an extremely vanilla offense. I said nothing of the Wildcat. and Turner has always had decent plays in his playbook (Des Howard playaction to beat the Packers), it's simply that he brain-farts when it comes to gametime playcalling 90% of the time. They are "vanilla" becuase of his inability to call a game, not becuase he cant draw up a good play.
  24. Turner can be creative, but its his game-calling that kills him
  25. doubt it, but Samari Rolle might. I think I'd rather stick with Peanut/Cory tho
